Christopher Lambert: The Man That Highlander REALLY Loved

Highlander Lore

Highlander (1986) starred Christopher Lambert, one of the most unique actors of all time. In this video I explain why he was perfect for the role of Connor Macleod and share his perspective on Highlander 2: The Quickening, Highlander 3: The Sorcerer, and Highlander Endgame. I also talk about his role alongside Adrian Paul as Duncan Macleod in Highlander: The Series, and how he nearly appeared in Highlander: The Source!

My name is David McMurdo and welcome to Highlander Lore where you learn the deepest Highlander lore from a Highlander! I make videos that explore both the original Highlander universe and that of the Henry Cavill led Highlander reboot!

I love the fact that the actors that we got attached to from the screen, also care like we do.

Ah yes, Christopher Lambert. The man who created Thomas Jane in his image.

His laugh is class
As is the man himself
I think he's very underrated as an actor and I hope he makes a full recovery

He's a beautiful man who had boundless charisma and presence.
I hope he's recovered, and gets into good health soon.
I always thought he REALLY nailed the Scottish accent when Angus saves him. "I'll bloody well walk out of here!"
I seen The Hunted as well! Good Friday night movie, as is Mortal Kombat!

I didn't notice until my wife watched this with me and informed me I laugh just like Connor

I truly appreciate Adrian Paul, but there can only be one, Christophe Lambert! He felt so alien in that first Highlander movie, just as Clancy Brown also felt so alien.

The in-joke in "Mortal Kombat" where Rayden (Lambert) catches himself slipping into the MacLeod laugh and cutting himself off with a "sorry" is still priceless.

I love his voice, his accent, his screen presence. I've enjoyed every movie I've seen him in. I love Highlander. I wish I could find a good copy.

"You talk funny, Nash. Where are you from?"

"Lots of places."

Just a perfect piece of dialogue.

Christopher Lambert also starred in a little known movie called Beowulf which was a futuristic version of the classic tale of the same name. I loved it. A guilty pleasure, for sure.

Christophe is a legend.

Even if Lambert is not a conventionally talented actor, he always brings a smile to my face whenever I see him, his sincerity and warmth is infectious.

Yes, and Adrian did indeed have a cheeky grin when he told me that. Take it with a grain of salt.

I don't think we could have asked for better Highlanders than Connor and Duncan. Both Christopher and Adrien were perfect for their respective roles and nothing would be the same without them. I was in Highschool when Highlander came out so naturally Connor holds a special spot in my heart. Glad that Christopher is doing better and wish him a long and healthy life. Would it be great to see them both in the new Highlander. Damn right it would but its not necessary. The Hunted is a great movie and I'm proud to have it in my collection of DVDs

We need a sequel to Highlander 2 - he looks perfect in those glasses

The train scene in The Hunted is my favourite combat scene in any film. Takeda was a true samurai.

Highlander aged nicely...

The fact that he is effectively blind just goes to show how skilled an actor he is. Every movement, reaction and expression is performed from memory and he has to rehearse extra so he doesn't collide with anyone or anything.
The Hunted was the first Lambert film I watched that wasn't Highlander, and it was a very enjoyable movie.
I always appreciate when an actor cares as much about a movie or character as I do, it let's me know that they are willing to stand up for that movie/character when a script runs counter to what they are.
Hope Christopher gets back to full health and sticks around for many more years.
Cheers!
