A lot of the credit really goes to John Cena. He really showcased his acting chops as  peacemaker

peacemaker made john cena one of my favourite actors in recent years, especially that childlike scream in the finale...still makes me cry a little

I love that he's a sidekick to vigilante in the comics but in the show its flipped 😂

I honestly thought Peacemaker Season 2 was about Peacemaker transitioning from the DCEU to the DCU. 😅

Peacemaker brought me from MCU to DC.

One thing that james do very well is, he takes characters with either low or zero popularity and make them the characters people will cry for.

"Peacemaker, you're not a joke."

James Gunn fixed peacemaker. but there is one more person to thank...and his name is John Cena

You know what I’ve noticed about James’s casting choices? Is that he understands that casting isn’t just about finding someone who looks the part, it’s about how an actor’s existing persona, charisma, and fanbase can elevate a character’s presence. Gunn knows that audiences often come in with preconceptions about actors, and he uses that to his advantage. Peacemaker, for example. Before the The Suicide Squad movie, almost no one outside of hardcore comic readers knew who that character was. But when people heard that John Cena, one of the most recognizable athletes and entertainers in the world, was playing him, suddenly there was instant interest. Cena brought a mix of brute strength, comedic timing, and unexpected vulnerability that made Peacemaker stand out. The same goes for Idris Elba as Bloodsport. And of course, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord was another perfect match and made an obscure space outlaw into one of the MCU’s most beloved heroes. And then Gunn flips that same formula when it comes to iconic characters like Superman. Instead of chasing another established superstar, he cast David Corenswet, a relatively unknown actor. This works perfectly in the opposite way. People might not know who Corenswet is yet, but everyone knows who Superman is. The legacy of the character instantly draws attention to him, and by giving him the role of such a universally recognized hero, Gunn is essentially building Corenswet’s stardom through the character’s popularity. So basically, John Cena is one of the big reasons why I loved Peacemaker and what made the character so beloved while Superman is the reason I like David Corenswet and what made the actor much more popular.

Because John Cena is not only likable, but humble enough to take coaching, feedback, and is willing to learn and evolve.  The latter parts that the Rock is not.

If Superman is the real punk rock, Peacemaker is the real hair metal.

8:47 The explanation behind this is one of my favorite quotes from James Gunn. He said he picked obscure villains because “there’s a certain kind of sadness to them. They’re not even that good at being bad.”

Thx to Cena and James Gunn, peacemaker is now in series, games, comics again, and Anime he became popular.

Is funny that Peacemaker went from unknown character to a icon all thanks to James Gunn and his suicide squad movie.

Who knows, maybe making a superhero feel so human and connected with emotions works better than a hero's emotion, like a stump rock

1. Trinity (Batman, Superman, wonder woman)
2. Peacemaker

Frrr peacemaker is now becoming one of my fav fiction characters too

Now he is one of the famous antiheroes.

Peacemaker is like the Iron Man & Thor of anti-heroes. They first debuted as nobodies/obscure characters before their live action counterparts changed everything

Who could've thought people would love a character with an interesting backstory, has many flaws, and is considered an underdog
