This is the start of a tutorial series to guide new and old players alike through Space Engineers survival from the very beginning and through to the point where ridiculous builds seem plausible.

This video covers everything I do during my first day in survival. From how to get your first assembler and refinery built, how to power them to what useful items are available on your drop pod and how to feed yourself delicious algae!

I've only watched 5 minutes but I already love how you're explaining EVERYTHING. Most people accidentally leave something out that usually doesn't need to be explained, which unfortunately some people will never learn or want to learn but can't find out.

Good lord, it's been a while so I've forgotten the cliff. But 5 minutes into this video and it's remarkable how much you need to know to do basic things. Thanks for helping new folks get past the wall.

Being new at this I’m having a nightmare with this game, I know I’m going to love it but it’s such a steep learning curve. Spent 2 hours just trying to figure out why my assembler isn’t doing anything. Hopefully these tutorials will help.

have i watched space engineers tutorials before? yes, many. have i watched every single one of Splitisie's tutorial videos before multiple times? also yes. do i need to watch them? no. am i going to anyways? damn right i am

A tip for new spawn: Put a GPS marker over the hole you dig when you land and name it "Landing" or something like that. It gives you a central reference point when navigating around, and more importantly it marks that hole so you don't accidentally drive your rover into the hole later on.

The Survivalkit can make crisps, so the food processor is not required until you get more advanced ingredients

No matter how many times splitsie does and redoes this series, I will watch all of them. (I have 1200 hours in space engineers but I still enjoy these tutrlorial videos)

I still remember when I first started playing 5 years ago, and let me tell you, this was only of the biggest learning curves i had in a game at that time. For me half the fun is figuring it out and watching the videos like this. Thanks for the content for all these years!

I just noticed that the end point for this video basically lines up with the old version of this video, while still covering the new stuff. That's great, slots in nicely with the series. Hope to see you expand the series to also tackle farming in space!
