This is part 3 of my US 50 road trip that covers the eastern half of Colorado. It starts at the border just after visiting Cousin Eddie in Coolidge, Kansas, and ends up in Salida, Colorado. The first part of this video felt a lot like the western side of Kansas with many small towns and fairly flat landscapes. But as we progress past Pueblo things change dramatically and the small towns are replaced with large mountains and incredibly scenic driving! I can only imagine there will be more of this to come!

What a lot of people don't realize is that a lot of the "wild west" took place here in eastern Colorado and western Kansas.

There is a beauty and majesty about our country no matter where we travel. This leg of your journey starts out in the flats of the Great Plains and climbs up into the mountains. And yet every mile of the trip is a wonderful to behold. Thank you for taking us along once again!

I am glad to see that you are still on the road. Getting up into the rocky hills and mountains is a treat for us Flatlanders, and we almost wear our our necks gazing back and forth. The gawking along with the ever twisting highway makes it hard to navigate. And the locals in their need to "get there" about blowing us "foreigners" off the road. Glad you remained safely on the hard surface!

It has been a number of years now, but my parents used to take us on the train from Garden City, Kansas, to Holly, Colorado. I was thrilled to see the train station in Holly included in your video. Not sure though if the race track is still open, but those days were fun! Pueblo and Salida were also childhood vacation spots and remain great memories as fun destinations. Another great leg of the journey! Thank you!

beautiful part of the country.. we stopped in a little town called Kim, CO while in that area.. I'll never forget it. So peaceful ...and windy

Pretty scenery for the most part! I loce the depots, and the drone footage. I had no idea Pueblo was that big (eww, too big). I definitely prefer Vallie ❤😊. The changing landscape and biomes stole my ❤ though. Thanks.

Pueblo and Salida look like quaint places with some nice old buildings. I love the drone video and the areas where the river runs alongside of the road. Nice video.

I spent many childhood vacations traveling from Topeka to Colorado. We always anxiously awaited the first mountain sighting. Thank you for the trip and the memories!
