One of GB's best ever championships, also one of the most enjoyable to watch as a spectator.

I remember feeling so chuffed for Sally at the time. A magnificent athlete and racer.

Can’t believe I’ve only just found this highlight reel on here. I used to have it on VHS and watched it so many times before school. Barcelona 92 and stuttgart 93 made me a fan of athletics. Thanks for sharing this.

That was a golden period we had so many world class athletes at that point it was crazy even in the field events. The likes of Steve Smith, Dalton Grant, Jonathan Edwards, Steve Backley, Mick Hill we were blessed now it's very sparse

Dear Sally. She didn't realise she had won and also broke the world record.

I don't think there's ever been a technically better sprinter over the hurdles than Colin Jackson. Others were faster on the flat, but that record lasted for 10 years.

Colin Jackson was brilliant at his team brilliant at running through and his close ally Tony jarratt x

Christie's win in 93 was better than 92 I say

Brilliant, Sally Gunnell was fantastic. The competition she was up against was immense too. Shame these videos seem to have degraded in time. At least now on YouTube the quality should not degrade anymore (correct me if I am wrong IT geeks, I am a lil bit of one myself ;) Commentators and interviewers were the best (in this time, and all time).

I know we shouldn't have regrets, but I was in the stadium for all of Barcelona '92 athletics and I wish I'd gone to Stuttgart the following year also. If it's your passion make it happen. You won't regret it. (Thankfully I've been to other Olympics since, Including Keeley Hodgkinson in Paris 2024.)

Christie in his later career was caught doping.
When the 2012 London Olympics were held he was not allowed to be a member of the Briitish Olympic Committee as his record for doping was true despite his many denials beforehand.
