Finally, I talked about Sonic Rush! Are you happy?
Thoughts on the Trilogy? Let me know below!
Thank you all for the support & see you on the next one! ~

Honestly, despite all the bs that Dimps sometimes pulled with the design choices of their Sonic games, they really delivered something special to 2D Sonic, and even their 3D Sonic games. They’ve definitely left an important mark on the franchise, and part of me is sad we’ll probably never see them work on another Sonic game. This is because the reason for their Sonic games existing has always mostly been as a companion piece to “mainline/3D” entries. With the introduction of the Switch, and hence no longer a need to separate hanheld/weaker hardware versions of games, it seems like Sega doesn’t really see a reason to have Dimps work on Sonic anymore. Perspectives on 2D Sonic have shifted since Dimps was first brought on board. Back then, 3D games were considered the sole focus and future for Sonic, and 2D entries were seen as less significant. In a way, I also think that’s why we were able get so many titles from them as well. But now, we also know to respect many different styles of Sonic for what they are, and the legacy they left behind will never be forgotten!

I think the reason a lot of people like the music of Sonic Rush is because it complements it's style. This game has such a unique aesthetic that I've yet to see matched in any Sonic game. Sonic in this game in particular is oozing with 90s attitude. His overexadurated confidence while doing tricks and boosting through enemies is complimented perfectly by Hideki Naganumas unique style of funk. Heck Sonic even breakdances at the end of each level. All of this is complemented even further by how slick the menuing system is in this game. We've really yet to see something that can rival it.

This was a great video and I agree the Rush games are considered some of my favorite games in Sonic's handheld even though they are flawed. I also think a Blaze spin off focusing her on the Sol dimension would be a neat idea

Ahh Sonic Rush one of the first Sonic Games I played the DS version of Colors was my first Sonic experince seeing someone bring up the rush games brings tears to my eye

It's finally about time, and this was absolutely worth the wait

Awesome job dude

Nice video dude it’s great

Loved this video, can't for the next one! B)

Sanic rash

Great video! I played rush adventure as a kid but I'd forgotten almost everything about the game lol. Might revisit now that ive watched  this

I just stumbled upon this video and this man reminds me of AntDude so much with the editing and the way he speaks and acts in general.

This video was great! I’ve only really played through colors ds (and I love it personally phenomenal game) but I have played a bit of rush and I love these games, I’ll have to finish rush at some point.

Sharp retrospective review here! Even as a newbie-normie to Sonic, this was a good watch that was easy to follow. And mind you, my real “Sonic origin story” were the Olympic Games with Mario, then carelessly getting the first Sonic game I could possibly get my hands on as a third-grade rat: Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood from a Scholastic BOOK order for our class (so I also got some Magic Tree House collections LOL). Even regarding game reception, I just plain sucked. 😩

All that said, great review! I can see why THESE DS games, while imperfect, are beloved to a fair extent.

I highly disagree with your statement on Sonic Rush not being a good game. The gameplay video obviously didn't help either as I see a few certain mistakes on your part.

However, everything else I tend to agree with. Sonic Rush Adventure is the most underrated title in the Sonic series. Most people either never heard of it or never played it despite hearing it. It's such a great game through and through. Even the sailing mechanics weren't bad either. It was slow, but not unplayable or hard (except the Johnny missions). Overall a good Sonic game yet again.

Sonic Colors on the DS is my preferred version of Sonic Colors and imo the best version too.
They way they kept the "2 acts and a boss" stage layout the same, the Wisps contemplate the speed of Sonic's gameplay here, recognizing the other Sonic characters, is treated as the most canon story of Sonic Colors (the Mother Wisp isn't even mentioned in Wii despite being in other game appearances), etc. The weakest in the Rush trilogy, but I'd the strongest in the Colors trilogy.

I use that same exact One Piece background

brianycus, have you ever thought about making a persona related video regarding about persona 2 duology?

Do you count Sonic generation 3DS as a Sonic Rush 4 because it's still a 2d boost game.

Ate you like ant dudes brother lol

I don't know if you are critiquing the fact that you can't set sail on certain islands or you have to go to the islands to replay them, but if it's the latter, it's actually false.
There's a level select in the start menu making easy access to levels that have already been discovered.
I replayed sra recently (skipping the dialouge) and it took like 5 hours to beat the game!
