TJ is wordgirl's brother and he could've been written a LOT better. Please let me know what you think! Do you agree?

The whole "kid has a crush on their older siblings superhero alter ego" thing also happens in Henry Danger, and it's... odd. I dont remember if she ever finds out either

@V4MPIRISMS 1 year ago

Sometimes I forget she's adopted they look so similar 😭

i wish the whole "crush on their siblings superhero alter ego" trope was switched to the sibling being like the biggest fan of the hero because it sounds like a funny trope when you take away the crush aspect and the hero reveal could be like "woah i never thought my sibling could be this cool" or maybe even slight betrayal depending on how close the siblings are

I live in the era of the Athena P word girl sequel? What a time to be alive.

"Why do none of her family remember adopting word girl?"
few seconds later.
"The father sees a giant robot and thinks nothing of it, then lets her daughter follow it cause she said it was for a school project."
ah. I see. They're stupid.-

If I had a nickel for Everytime someone's younger sibling had a crush on their hero persona i would two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird happened twice

Honestly, I think Toby makes a better Word Girl superfan then her brother, (that’s not just because I shipped Becky and Toby super hard) because, he notices every detail and actually admires/crushes bout her. Not just her looks but how ingenuous, powerful and brilliant she is to the point where when Becky displays those qualities he is very quick to complement her and acknowledge those moments. To the point where he views Becky/Word Girl highly as a rival, and is disappointed if the attention he seeks from them even if it’s negative isn’t being fulfilled. So I voted Toby as Word Girl’s #1 fan (honestly, I hope @athenap talks more about them, I’d absolutely love them as an OTP)

17:23 I think it’s supposed to be a “oh that’s you lying because you want to go see a boy! Yes I was also a teen once, go ahead and have fun” type exchange from the dad’s perspective.

1:12 " waste of a character"
4:35 " waste of city recourses"
40:24: "what a waste and a throwaway this was"
41:23 "he had so much potential beside the weird crush"

If I missed one lmk and I'll edit it on

24:00 you say her brother is very creative and skilled, and in the og vid you said one thing you noticed was that wordgirl seemed to struggle with anything on the creative side. that was the perfect set up for him to be her sidekick omfg

As a kid, I had a theory that Becky's dad actually DID know she was Wordgirl, but would feign ignorance to keep up appearances for her. Him not being phased by the robot, him telling her brother that he'd "understand when he was older," actually referring to whenever they told him what happened. And whenever she reveals the truth in the show? He is usually the most against it, doubling down on her NOT being Wordgirl. Idk if it still holds up, but I know that I believed it enough that I told my sister that it was factual as a kid haha

This video made me realize that Word Girl is just the superhero equivalent of being a gifted kid in a small town

You talking about PBS actually made me decide to make a monthly donation to them so they can keep on trucking. LONG LIVE PUBLIC EDUCATION!

27:18 I saw a theory that said that, based on their outfits, they were hippies and they were high while adopting her, that's why they don't remember her being adopted

Edit: (Idk if I wrote that right I'm spanish)

Who else hopes this show comes back for another season, and WordGirl has a legitimate villain arc, not from manipulation, but from a genuine loathing for how she's treated by the ungrateful and unloyal people she's done so much for?

I love the title of "Wordgirl and the little brother that shouldn't" it's so out of context lol 😂

It’s so crazy this show got adopted into a fandom full of many interesting individuals, but because of how well written the show was, I can’t blame them. Yet another great video by Athena P!!

5:08 this reminds me of the early seasons of henry danger where Piper is constantly calling Kid Danger hot, unaware that’s it’s literally her brother..
