"i'm worried for the women in this room" immediately cuts to a literal rapist

It's nice you and Matt Walsh can put aside your differences and watch movies together

Seeing Lindsay ellis in old nostalgia critic stuff is genuinely so wild

I love how the plot of all of these movies is "The Nostalgia Critic wants to hang out with his friends, but all of his friends hate him, and also he doesn't have any friends".

This is such a love letter to Douglas Darien Walker

42:18 - the comment about them using film-making techniques when pointing out they used Dutch Angles is likely not a sign of them trying to improve their craft, but more likely just another reference to Battlefield Earth, as that entire movie is famously filmed with Dutch Angles all throughout.

This awakened one of my cringiest memories. In high school I was super into TGWTG, mostly nostalgia critic but also Lindsay Ellis, Spoony, Brad, just a bunch of people in that circle. A friend from drama club asked to crash the night at my place for some reason or other, and I put on Kickassia for us to watch because it had just came out and I wanted to watch it. He said “I don’t really know any of these people”, but I put it on anyway. We watched the whole thing, and he didn’t laugh once. Like, just completely stone faced. He just suffered in silence for the entire time as I was laughing my ass off, blissfully ignorant that I was being extremely embarrassing.

After high school he became a super conservative “America First” kind of guy, and in the years since I’ve always wondered if me exposing him to the YouTube reviewer ecosystem is what flipped the switch in his brain.

It’s fun watching Adum slowly fall in love with Doug and essentially turn into Oneyplays

Phelous: *dies*
Adum: I like this movie.

4:11 "It's fine I booked everybody a hotel room" and then a jumpcut to everyone in the SAME hotel room got me. That's a legitimately great joke.

Dan Olson saying "fundamentally incurious" changed my vocabulary

Aw man, I wish Scoot was still here for this

3:30 "I got sucked into my Nintendo game."

Pictured: A Konami game. A Konami game that was exclusive to a Sega console.

If Moby Dick is the great American novel, To Boldly Flee might just be the great American film 🇺🇸🫡

first ever movies to make a dougillion dollars

The Doug who Walks.

Ah Spoony. Every time I see him I am forced to once again think: what if.
What if he hadn't lost his fucking mind...

There are a lot of people in these movies I just straight up forgot existed.

"To boldly flee" or in Adum's case in this video, "To Boldly Pee"

I know Adum and LW didn’t care for Phelous, but shout out to him at the end of “To Boldly Flee” where he passive-aggressively stared at the camera in the same pose for minutes on end.
