I Caught A Fish Without A Pole in Fiji

Adventures with Miri and Justin

Justin went fishing in Fiji’s Yasawa Islands and finally caught the first fish by hand.

The morning started with a little rain, which apparently meant good luck, and before long everyone was pulling fish out of the water. Justin lost his first bite, got another chance, and then finally landed one — a genuine first on this trip.

After fishing, the day slowed down with another walk along Long Beach, low-tide exploring, crabs, fruit, and one of those Fiji sunsets that makes it hard to leave. Then the night ended with Pedro showing us how to mix kava from scratch before everyone sat down to try it together.

Fishing, island life, sunset, and kava — another very Fiji kind of day.

Thanks for traveling with us,
Miri & Justin
