Amazing! I listened to this version on tape over and over when I was a kid, absolutely loved it. Thank you so much, been looking for this particular version for a long time, really like the voice acting and narration

Oh. My. God. Thank you thank you thank you. I have been thinking about this for years. I’m a 35 year old man and I’ve just sobbed listening to this. The nostalgia. The memories. The gorgeous and magical story and at the root of it the unconditional love between father and son.

'THIS IS THE ULTIMATE NOSTALGA EXPERIENCE X

I have been looking for this exact version from my childhood. I'm so grateful to finally hear it again! Thank you!

As soon as the opening music started I felt a wave of nostalgia. Interesting how stuff stays in the brain for 30 odd years.

This is certainly dahl's most underrated work it's amazing! At 33 years young this story is the one I have the most emotional attachment to of all literature I absorbed as a kid. Maybe because of my situation at the time of reading but nonetheless fantastic

i had this tape cassette when i was a young man, listened to it every night to get to sleep. the antics of Danny's father and his exploits against mr hazel were probably my first exposure to the concept of 'good trouble' and likely shaped my politics as an adult. great stuff

I absolutely loved this story tape when I was younger - my Grandad reminded me of Danny's father - he was an engineer who used to make things for us - once he made a to scale model of a working steam engine for us to play with. 30 years later I'm a design engineer too. Also best theme tune ever.

I'm over the moon with thus. Had on tape as a child. Best audiobook ever! Sooo grateful. Looked for a while!

I used to listen to this religiously on my dad's Walkman! This is a magical trip down memory lane! Thank you!

I can't believe I'm listening to this after decades. Thank you so much for uploading, the nostalgia is priceless!

Wowwwww I’m so happy this exists just hearing the music brought tears to my eyes!!!!!!!!xxx

Danny's Dad, superbly brought to life by Michael Williams. He has a lovely warm voice for the role.
