For those asking, yes this video was made before the Christmas special cancellation announcement. With lists we work well in advance and sometimes they can sit on the shelf for a couple of weeks!

You can tell how long ago this was made. 'Upcoming Christmas special'. I'm sad again now

Upcoming Christmas special? HAH... When was this script written?

2:55 I love in The Doctor's Wife, when she refers to the Doctor's companions as his "bringing home strays"...

Upcoming Christmas special. I guess we're just going through the backlog of prerecorded videos, now.

I think it would be interesting if the Doctor's companion was a mental health professional. They're interested in learning more about the Doctor and helping them with their trauma, but the Doctor keeps trying to distract them with time travel and alien planets.

6:30 Poor Time Crash got forgotten again.

11:01 The Chibnall era, and most certainly the unforgivable "timeless child" nonsense, should be considered absolutely non canonical, and just ignored and/or forgotten.

Now my mind is brimming with possibilities about a spin off named Companions. Have a rotating crew of former companions dealing with issues, terrestrial or extra-terrestrial, without the Doctor's help. Maybe not quite to the same extent as in Torchwood, with no end of the world plots. Maybe use the support group seen at the end of PotD as a framing device. The best bit is you could have a different companion every week, depending on the actor's availability, or season long story arcs with multiple companions or just the one.

4:50 finally someone understood it. Not to mention it's a case like Ian and Barbra where the Doctor taking them on as a companion could be considered kidnapping.

The Doctor has been responsible for so many deaths that the fatality index counter from the 2017 episode Extremis is still spinning.

“Dimensions in Time” was a 30th anniversary special, like “The Three Doctors” was the 10th anniversary (more or less).

The Master: I've been telling The Doctor about his huge problems since the BIG BANG.

Anakin taught us that. "Trust me bro" is not enough to go on when being asked to murder kids. Also that that you should respect The High ground.

The Doctor is too busy whizzing about space and time to self-reflect, they get all dark and brooding and.. yeah that's not good.

I actually think the introduction of the Timeless Child backstory during 13's run helped fix a problem with the Doctor's regeneration continuity. It never made sense to me that Time Lord regeneration would be so rigid for each individual Time Lord, with them all having a preset maximum limit of 12 regenerations. If they evolved this ability naturally then it should be a bit more fluid like a species' average lifespan, with 12 regenerations being the average. Some get more than 12. Some get less. By making regeneration something that they grafted onto their species artificially from the DNA of the Timeless Child, that fixed limit makes more sense to me. The TC arc also explains how the Time Lords were somehow able to just give the Doctor more regenerations when 11 became 12, by retconning it so that isn't what they did at all. They just unlocked whatever mental or genetic block they put on the Doctor to make him think he had the same regeneration limit as they did.

'Turn Left' showed us that the universe, despite everything, IS better with him knocking around in it.

No interference law is more of a Star Trek thing because there is an episode that The Doctor could have wiped out the Daleks. Obviously, the origins of the Daleks are a fixed point in time, so they might not have had that in place.

You can pry my multi-Doctor stories from my cold, dead hands. The Five Doctors was among the first few episodes I saw as a kid, lol. And I love stories like Legacy of Time (from Big Finish) or Day of the Doctor.

10:21 That's "poster lord", thank you very much 😂
