Watching this makes me feel that this episode should be shown in schools to teenagers. Having suffered domestic violence myself, it’s like listening to a stereotypical timeline. What we survivors suffer and endure is almost always identical. Thank you Denise for your openness and honestly 🫶

Having Denise Richards on to discuss this is absolutely epic and so incredibly needed. Narcissistic abuse is a massive, widely misunderstood epidemic, and seeing someone with her platform speak so openly about it is deeply validating for all of us survivors. I went through absolute hell with a severely narcissistic wife, and the insidious mind games and devaluation are things you truly can't grasp until you've lived them. Thank you, Dr. Ramani, for facilitating this, and to Denise for her bravery. To everyone else in these comments healing from this kind of trauma: you are not crazy, and you are not alone. The first time I heard of Denise was when Martin Sheen praised her. He was lamenting his son Charlies drug habit and how he even got police to arrest him on purpose so he’d be forced to get himself clean. He talked about how he was getting his act together now and how much he loved his new daughter in law, Denise, for being the caring and strong pillar for his son. Denise had not played very sympathetic roles by that point and I was struck by how people in real life can be so different from their roles. I have been rooting for her since knowing that she had such a kind heart. I’m so glad she’s left this abusive marriage. It killed me to see her picture with the black eye. Wish you the best of everything in life, Denise. Thank you for the work you do Dr. Ramani.
