I just ordered the same mill.  This is the first video I've seen that shows the realistic speed of the machine and working with the machine.  So many videos out there are the bigger LV machines.  Thanks!  Great tips.

I have watched a pile of lumber milling videos, especially "OUT of the WOODS" He has a LT70 wood miser. He has great tips on how to cut etc. Just looking at your walking platform, if it was slightly raised a foot or 2 your reaching up all the time would be dramatically reduced and less painful at the end of a day of sawing. You are living my dream. Please keep making videos. Cheers from AUS. Steve

The tapering can occur when debris accumulate between the bed of the sawmill and lumber.

nice set up buddy

Mount laser level to the Miser inline with the blade so it will shine on the side of the log most of the way down the length. It’ll help you judge your depth

I have the LX-55, it is just like yours, the motor is even the same. I think they just changed the name.

I have the track extension as well. When you put a 16 footer on there you’ll have room. With the five foot extension, you can now cut 17 and a half feet.

You could push the log through while you saw it going even longer then 16ft go half way push it slowly get a few extra ft

at 19:08 another point, you should move the blade guard in, this not only protects yourself, but brings the blade bearings closer to the timber, so the blade doesn't flex as much.

I just bought the exact machine 2 weeks ago. I have not even opened up the box/crate it was shipped in. I also bought the extension and a pack of 10 new saw blades. Any advice you can give me on setup and maybe some advice of my first log would greatly be appreciated. I have never tried milling my own wood before, and honesty, I'm a bit nervous. Thank you for your videos and help.

Can you keep adding track? If you wanted to cut longer material

Afternoon. Just lost my LX25 to a fire. looking at upgrading to the LX50 super. Woodmizer couldn't answer my question. what is the bed track width. hoping i can us the track from LX25 with the new LZ50. I have a 20 foot bed now. longer would be nice. Thanks, and have a great day.

How many inch log was that log when you started?

I just bought one myself, i havent received it yet. You were chatting with another person on height. What do recommend a good height to set it up to?  I bought two extensions!! Im trying to figure out if its better to be higher off the ground or lower to the ground or at ground level. I am 6’ 3” tall.

I disagree.  you could use that "garbage second cut" for 1x1, at least a 3-5 foot 1x1 or 1x2 .  Thanks for posting from a "new guy" as well.

I read somewhere that Woodmizer doesn't include the leveling feet with the mill.  Did yours come with feet or was it an extra add on?
