Milling logs that weigh 1200 pounds is a challenge, but finding free lumber makes the tractor work worth the effort.
This tree had a significant taper and pushed my equipment to its absolute limits. Since I run a one-man show, I had to figure out how to maneuver the weight when the machine reached its capacity.
We get the dogs set and prepare the timber for the sawmill. It takes patience and a bit of improvisation to complete the milling logs process when you are working alone.

I only have an Alsaka chainsaw mill, it needs 2 men to operate it, but I can cut much larger logs.
We only cut slabs, we dry those, and any that cant be used for table tops, we recut them.
I also get most of my logs for free, from the tree cutting guys, you see it costs them money to dump it, and it costs them time to make it into firewood, and so its much better to just drop it off with me.
We have to check them for metal, and get it out, because most of them come from gardens, people nail fencing wire to them and all sorts, the craziest thing I found was a hurricane lamp, someone had fixed it to the tree and forgot about it, the tree grew around it.
