Dr Ang bought an extra 3 years of life for my father, he had stage 3 pancreatic cancer. Other doctors told us to go home and prepare for his funeral. Dr Ang often reassured my father everything was fine. In a strong calm voice he would say "Don't fear, you have me looking after you". This gave him hope and the will to live on.

Thank you Dr Ang for the 3 extra years you gave me with my father. 🙏🙏🙏

Dr.Ang treated my late wife, diagnosed with non smoker late stage lung cancer in early 2013 she held on till mid 2016 and I saw his watery eyes when she passed on!

A doctor who did what he told her at her first consultation “Don’t worry, I will walk this journey with you together!”

A doctor that picked my many 2-3am calls personally!!

Dr Ang is a super hero and the best doctor I have ever met. My dad, 72 years old, was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2002. We went for a second opinion and seek his help. He was so patient and spent at least 30 mins explaining all possible treatments to us and answered all our pressing questions. At the end of the day, he told my dad to enjoy his remaining days of life and live happily as aggressive treatment may be too much for my dad to bear. We agreed totally. He told us to continue with our first doctor (Public hospital) as treatment method is the same but more affordable. After the consultation, we were surprised to hear that he had even waived off my dad’s consultation fee. What a great man! He is really God’s gift! I’m sure we are not the only ones whom he had assisted❤ Dr Ang has a big heart. Although we only met once, I have never forgotten how that hospital visit. Thank you for giving us hope and thank you for being there for us, Dr Ang! 😊

Could we someday have a skin/ezcema specialist on the podcast?

Very interested to hear about
1) why it feels like there hasn't been any advancement in ezcema treatment
2) how to balance between using steroid creams to control the itch but not overrely on it and suffer from withdrawal symptoms subsequently?

My uncle was treated by Dr Ang for nasal cancer stage 3 more than 20 years ago.
He is still alive but sadly he lost his hearing and eyesight a little gone.
Happy to see him still alive but the treatment during those times were harsh from radiotherapy etc;

Dr Amg is so patience, knowledgeable and a very good doctor.

Sadly i find that some private doctors now are going for money and unnecessary treatment or over do it.

Everyone should listen to this episode. This doctor speaks alot of truth and delivers it well. I can personally attest to two things that were talked about.

1. Stress causes cancer. I believe this to be true. When I was going through marriage issues years ago, it was an extremely stressful and my pap-smear revealed pre-cancerous cells. Thankfully that period has passed and I'm also cancer free.

2. Don't reject modern medicine. Decades ago my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer, she was young, in her 40s. The recommendation then was to have a mastectomy, but her husband did not like that idea and they decided to do other natural forms of remedy. Eventually the cancer grew and it was too late to save her when they wanted to return to modern medicine.

My take - stop eating out everyday! Once a wk is fine. Make the effort to cook meals at home regardless how simple they maybe. U get to decide what type of oil to use, (nvr to use recycled oil), what ingredients to use incldg omitting MSG, etc.

For thousands of years Chinese medicine knows that not only stress, but specific emotions hurt specific organs. For example sorrow /grief hurt lungs and large intestines. While anger hurt liver which is connected to breast.

In addition when liver or lung is hurt, a patient would face difficulty sleeping between 1am to 3am. or between 3am to 5am respectively.

Chinese medicine also understands a healthy body with strong immunity, free of dampness/phlegm and full of yang energy with sufficient qi and blood are not conducive to cancer growth. Just like moulds are attracted to dark humid and cold environment but cannot survive in dry and sunny condition.

So think of leaning on Chinese medicine to adjust body constitution as a preventive measure. Cheers.

In my own understanding, stress is a big major component of cancer. So I am not surprised that Singapore cancer patients get younger. The Singapore system has increasingly increased stress over the years. Like PSLE, they suddenly up the stake to make it harder, pretending to call it differentiation. Why must they differentiate. If you are good enough, you are good enough. That pushes students to do more and therefore more stress. The answer is STRESS. Dr. Ang also says: Lifestyle

Great to see Dr Ang on this episode of TDK after so many years (almost 30 years back) he still looks great and energetic. He was seeing my late mum since he was at SGH, and subsequently moved on the NCC. Although my mum didn't make it after 6 years of fighting (that time '5-year-survival milestone' was always seen as an important benchmark), i recalled he always looked and sound positively, and tried many methods and (limited) medicine available back then ... it is encouraging to hear that many cancers that were once almost untreatable are now managed as long-term chronic conditions. Carry on and keep up the good works (and hopes)

Although anecdotal, for me personally, I was under extreme stress including negative emotions such as guilt, grief, sorrow, anger, resentment, bitterness for a few years before I was diagnosed with a stage 2 breast cancer that was 2.5cm large. I definitely believe the stress that my body was going through resulted in cancer. And not only myself but a few people I know have similar experiences. I do not know anyone in my family line that had breast cancer, at least not my grandmas and mother. And recently my Chinese doctor told me in China, there are studies done by doctors that conclude that a contributory factor of breast cancer is excessive emotional stress.
