Apple wants you to buy a MacBook and a iPad, that's why the iPad will never get Macos

Acting like the Microsoft Surface hasn't existed for 10 generations as a tablet with a desktop OS that doubles as a laptop.

An iPad will never be a laptop replacement to me because I still don't have the freedom to download whatever I want, that's illegal to Apple.

Feels smarter still to get a macbook and then the 10th ipad for the price of a pro.

The power to do what you could do on the MacBook without being able to do what you can do on a macbook.

I think an "easy" solution would be to allow Mac apps when a keyboard/track pad is connected or when the iPad Pro is docked, like dex with Samsung. So iPadOS for normal daily uses and when you put it into the magic keyboard or connect a display you get more Mac like features.

Apple doesn't want you to use the iPad as a Macbook because then it would cannibalize their sales of the macbook.

The mini is the real iPad. Lol😂

I don’t use my iPads for anything productive. I just really like the.120 hz screen, the promotion, the OLED, and ease of use/

bringing a 16 inch macbook pro m2 pro to work everyday is awful as its so heavy, but other than that im very happy with it

The Ipad was promoted as a replacement to the MacBook at one point by Apple. but still is holding back it, because they love making more money. Apple being Apple

All I care about for the iPad is being able to play steam on my iPad and then play all the games on my iPad like I could do on a computer. The iPad is powerful enough to run it but if they can’t do that, then I want side loading macOS on my iPad so I can play steam

If windows and Intel weren’t so horribly bad, Apple would not exist.

@yyouthcanoee 2 years ago

Ehh getting rid of the MacBook is a pretty bold statement. I get the point but that would be jarring for a majority of people

I would rather have a slightly thicker IPAD pro that's capable of being used as a daily driver for programming, video editing, game design and light gaming. I feel like it's totally possible at this point, ignoring the fact that APPLE would probably want to charge me over $1k for an appropriate amount of storage for these tasks.

“There’s nothing here that’s revolutionary” Linus showed that the m4 ipad display is only outperformed by a $20k professional reference monitor, and for a device that you could snag for $1000 bucks, that’s pretty amazing-
