I’m starting the Stephen King Challenge.

The goal: read Stephen King’s books in publication order, starting with his very first novel — **Carrie (1974)**.

I’ve never read Carrie before, so this is my completely honest first-time reaction and review. Was Stephen King’s debut actually as good as I expected? How does it hold up all these years later? And is Carrie the right way to begin the journey through King’s massive bibliography?

In this video, I break down my thoughts on the story, characters, writing, themes, what surprised me, and whether I think Carrie deserves its reputation as a classic.

*Book #1: Carrie — Stephen King*

This is just the beginning. Next up: *'Salem’s Lot.*

If you’re a Stephen King fan, a longtime reader, or someone who has always wanted to read his books but never knew where to start, follow along as I work my way through the entire challenge.
