Bro y’all have to do a varmint bracket 💯

Andrew, look at the Dark Knight’s ending the same way that Iroh describes why he can’t be the one to defeat Ozai. Public/ historical perception. Harvey was the public’s White Knight, proof that justice can happen without vigilantism. Batman is the Dark Knight, proof that it can only happen WITH vigilantism. To the public, Harvey gets crime off the streets, and Batman only breeds more chaos. “Things are worse than ever.” They’ve already started to lose their faith that Batman is the answer. It’s even questioned by Gordon in the end of Batman Begins, “what about escalation? We start carrying semiautomatic, they (criminals) buy automatic. You’re wearing a mask, jumping off rooftops. Now take this guy (Joker). Has a taste for the theatrical, like you. Leaves a calling card.” Does having Batman in Gotham escalate the level of crime within Gotham? Does Batman bring the darkness and crime with him? The people are asking these questions now. Bruce is asking these questions. It doesn’t matter at that point who killed Harvey even if it’s Joker, because the hope that Gotham can get out of the darkness that comes with Batman is lost. But if Batman is responsible, and if he goes away, then Gotham can finally move on and become the city they hope it can be. No Batman, just faith in the system. And it works. “Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded.”

The dark knight is amazing (goated)
