Its crazy to see how hard he overthinks this entire thing lmao, i guarantee 99% of the viewer base cant even tell the difference with what "format" they're watching

It's so sad seeing this after Doug died

It took him almost 4 years to realize the solution was dying

And now the DougDougDoug channel has now just become the DougDoug channel

i will consume my doug doug slop from a trough regardless of format

For me they’re just boiled down into “Doug wins on DougDoug, Doug doesn’t win on DougDougDoug”

fairly interesting to see that even almost four years ago Doug was actively looking for a way to sunset the main channel in its current form. fantastic stuff as always!

6:58 DOUGDOUGFILES MENTIONED WOAH

0:26 I made the laundry alarm my actual alarm for like a year, and everytime without fail I’d forget i’d have set it to that and wake up screaming in terror. So good things I suppose have come out of it

2:16 Hi, I'm the second editor, this is back around when Doug first put me on the team.

He mentioned the split between the main channel and second channel like every month for the first year. The second channel, before it became the main channel, ended up being the place where Doug doesn't have to be directly involved in writing up a plan for the video. He also didn't have to be in the majority of the video reviews with the editors.

Nah this is basically a DouglasDouglas channel now

He was dying back then already and no one noticed

11:29 He absolutely did do that. He made a video called "I'm merging my two YouTube channels" explaining the new classroom/dorm room tag thing. Eventually he quietly unlisted or removed it and went back to using both channels.

“Why are there 2 channels?” He says on a 3rd channel

Microphone symbol for chatting, book for story telling etc. make it fluid and symbolically obvious

As part of the thirty percent only subscribed to the main channel, it was only because I did not know the existence of the second channel

5:35 as long as the tumbnail has a bellpeper with eyes im clicking bro

There's actually like 20 DougDoug channels lmao

I feel like the system Doug had going for a couple years where the more story-focused videos were on the main channel and the less structured videos were on DougDougDoug made a lot of sense. I forget the exact reasons why he decided to kill the main channel (I need to go rewatch that) but I think that system worked pretty well.
