Rc companies are very aware of the YouTube RC community. They listen to these channels. I believe HPI re released these because they see the resurgence of the 2nd hand nitro market and they want to capitalize on that. No issue. Its actually a good thing. What's not good is spending $600 just to have to repair your brand new car right out out the box...
Iโm glad I watched this video. I havenโt received my Savages yet but now I know I must rip it apart to service the transmissions. Itโs extremely frustrating to have to do that. They need to step up quality control.
After 30+ years in the hobby running primarily Traxxas (also Losi, Arrma, and Associated), I decided to get the GT Savage X I always wanted when they came back in stock. What a disappointment!
There are so many build quality issues out of the box with this thing! Dead radio right out of the box (*A-main took care of this one), transmission stuck in 2nd gear, throttle and brake linkages all screwed up, servo saver and linkages so loose wheels won't center, exhaust coupler completely loose and causing issues with fuel pressure, throttle return spring way too long and won't stay attached...
I understand part of the fun of the hobby is working on them, but if I wanted something half assembled (or not at all), I would have bought an SBK.
Pimp, THANK YOU for posting this! Love your content, as always.
YOUR A GENIUS PIMPโค! I just tore mine down because I found your video and went at it!!! The grub screws were completely backed all the way out. The funny thing is the grease caught the little BBs, the springs and the grub screws๐๐๐๐
Very informative video! According to Amain, the next large shipment of Savages will be the end of June, and that is when I expect my backordered XL to arrive. I wonder if there is any chance they will address this in the new builds...
Good Video Mate! I own 2 Savage X, one 4.1 and one 4.6. Love them very much! And knew every screw of them, and thats the way Nitro Guys want their Cars ๐
Very good video on an awesome RC truck. I bought my 5.9xl 2 years ago and learned then that EVERY SINGLE TRANS needs to be gone through and lock tight applied. But honestly itโs for the better in the long run bc all owners need to know how to do it anyway, and if the trans isnโt gone through you will be in there soon enough ๐
