Hey 'The Warning' Army!!

I just want to say, you guys are so unbelievably loyal to TW and it's one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. TW truly have something special with you lot.

I hope I didn't come across as negative. As I mentioned at the end of the video, it's completely fine to use back tracks. As you guys have pointed out... they recorded them anyway, haha.

I'm so excited to venture down this rabbit hole.

Question is, what song next?

Wings of Pegasus has already verified that The Warning play’s everything live other than a track that carries some extra little sounds like in the case the backing ooh ooh vocals. Their instruments and voices are live and by their interviews they have expressed that they will not cheat people who come and watch them play and sing.

Even when they were only 15, 14 and 12 years old!!! https://youtu.be/BJ9JujGW5fQ?si=bd127RAljZBuyk9N

Hey Joe,
You have no idea of what you have just witnessed. These 3 sisters from Mexico have already performed with Royal blood and Muse last year during Muse's UK tour.
Personally I have seen them live 15 times, the latest in O2 Brixton on April 17th 2025. The first time being Texas for 3 shows in 2022.
This is where The Warning shine, when they play live. Being a 3 piece band they never hide the fact that they use backing tracks, but everything on the backing track is them. From piano, screams, vocals.
All 3 are classically trained in piano too. They all sing and generally write all their own songs until their last album where they experimented with co-writers.
These girls rock your socks off. Try Dust to Dust/Dull Knives live at the Pepsi centre for starters, Choke, Animosity and even their rendition of Enter Sandman.  Also remember that these 3 sisters were recovering from flu and almost cancelled the show.
Thanks for the reaction and be prepared to be endeared by these 3 amazing sisters. 🤟

The Warning are the real deal live or video. No auto tune, no pitch correction, no lip sync. Any backing tracks they use, they create. All three classically trained on piano. Most songs are started by Pau at the piano, writing cords and lyrics. Then all three  work to complete it. All three write all the parts, Pau and Ale will help write Dany’s guitar parts. Dany and Ale help write Pau’s drum parts etc. No egos, they write what the song needs . No filler, clean melodic rock. I’ve been following them for several years and recommend watching their documentaries and behind the scenes videos. They are wonderful people and very funny. After looking for new rock for decades, they are the best I’ve seen since The Who.

I almost didn’t watch this because of the performance you chose, and then the inevitable criticism of the band. They lose control of their sound when playing on TV. Watch their concerts, Teatro Metropolitan or Pepsi Center CDMX to hear their true sound. Yes, they do use stems in places but they’re not necessary for playing the songs, and they create all of them themselves. The Warning is all about the show; check out their shows. They did tour with Royal Blood in Canada.

Thanks for your reaction.

You will notice that fans of The Warning are very passionate (and protective) about the band.

There is a benefit in that: Ask any question about The Warning, and the fans will happily answer it for you.

All of Teatro metropolitan or Pepsi Center (Both CDMX ) are worth reacting too and its from their YouTube channel so it won't get any strike or takedown the recordings are ProShot to enjoy it equally or so as a real live at the gvenue performance

They are using precorded keys.   That's a keyboard track.  Sometimes a second guitar.   They all sing vocals live.   They all play keys well

They do use backing tracks to embellish the sound, but they absolutely don’t rely on them. Their innate talent is clear from their acoustic performances, stripped-down ballads, or when they have to play through technical glitches like a failing laptop. And I’m guessing one would be hard pressed to find a band, especially a major band, that doesn’t use backing tracks these days, often in ways that are much less transparent and honest (like using vocal tracks to essentially substitute for live vocals). The guitarist does some solos, but only where it serves the needs of the song. I think The Warning are about great, fat-free songs and songwriting, not flashiness.

The stems they play on the backing track are ONLY things from their studio work that they cannot replicate in their live performance, usually some doubled backing vocals and/or flourishes of a second guitar. They are very up front about what they use their backing tracks for and their fans know and fully understand. To me, that makes it acceptable. They aren't trying to trick anyone. Their newer songs have a bit more of a commercial structure than their older music, so there is more detail they fill in. The fact remains, those things on the backing track are their performance in the studio, not anything synthetic. For example, they did a cover of Enter Sandman with pop singer, Alessia Cara for the Metallica Blacklist album. They use some of Alessia's vocalizations and harmonies on the backing track. They toured with Muse and Royal Blood, so they are fans of both groups. Dany (guitarist and singer) uses a pedal board that can perform what Royal Blood does to shift an octave or more up or down on the guitar tone. There is a function called a harmonizer that can fill out the sound of a single guitar for live performances, which splits the guitar signal and shifts it up or down an octave to simulate a secondary guitar. But as you indicate, every live band these days uses all the tech available to give the audience a performance that is as close to the studio experience as possible. But with TW, their live performance is almost always better than their studio performance.

a concise history
The Warning are Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra, three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico... you'll see their names and band name abbreviated as DPA or DPA/TW... each goes by a nickname taken from the first part of their names... Dany for Daniela, Pau (like POW!) for Paulina, and Ale (like Ah Leh) for Alejandra [say Alejandra and leave off the "jandra" part] ... you'll also see "TWA" which is The Warning Army, their highly enthusiastic fan base 😜

DPA/TW started with music at a very young age... like 4 and 6 for Pau (drums) and Dany (guitar) when they started learning and playing classical piano... Ale (bass) was like 2 or 3... they all learned and played classical piano first... as a family, they used to watch concerts on TV together... music has always been a part of their lives and they are influenced by many bands from years past... then came the game, Rock Band, which Dany and Pau played all the time with Ale watching and clapping along... Pau, at age 6, gravitated to the drums and Dany, at age 8, took up the guitar... Ale was 7 or had just turned 8 when she chose the bass... a few months after Ale started playing the bass, the girls realized they had all they needed to form a band and here we are today...

today the girls are 25 (Dany - Jan 30 2000), 23 (Pau - Feb 5 2002), and 20 (Ale - Dec 13 2004)...

THE WARNING  from Monterrey, Mexico - some highlights:

Their dad was a civil engineer and their mom was a dentist. They lived a comfortable upper middle class life. Both parents gave up their careers to focus exclusively on The Warning. Dad also owned a recording studio on the side; so he knew recording production and sound engineering. When his studio went out of business, he brought all the equipment home and built a studio in the basement. Dad also sold his Harley to buy the girls their instruments. Today Dad is co-manager and stage manager. Mom is their stylist, Spanish grammarian, and personal assistant.

Welcome to The Warning, Joe. You have been Warned! It is, as Dany calls it "pure rock and roll". Meet the Villarreal sisters, Alejandra on bass, Paulina on drums, and Daniela on guitar. All three sing and all three play piano. You generally won't get any extended or ostentatious guitar solos. Just well-written solos that fit the song perfectly. You might be interested in her guitar solo in their 2014 straight-up cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" when she was 14 and her sisters were 9 and 12! Their catalogue of original music is deep, encompassing an EP, four full-length LPs, and a separate standalone single. Performing live is their superpower! The young ladies hail from Monterrey, Mexico, but they travel far and wide to share their music with the world. They've just returned from playing their biggest foreign headlining show at a place called Brixton O2.

You have experienced the tip of an amazing musical iceberg!! Welcome to the The Warning rabbit hole. Subscribing to join you on your The Warning journey!

Yes, they use stems, and don't hide the fact. There's an interview with Pau where she shows off the laptop running ableton. I've also seen them on vids where there was tech problems and the laptop wasn't being used, and they sounded great. Just remember, the best trio ever, Rush, used stems live.

This is a poor example re:tracks. Rock bands have used tracks for over 50 years. This is audio that was altered after the fact by (we assume) the Kelly Clarkson Show. The vocal sounding track is actually a keyboard sound. They use tracks for effects (Pink Floyd did not have 50 cash registers on stage to play Money live) or sometimes basic guitar rhythms or piano.
They have played everything you heard.
They have an incredible team that makes them sound as good as a venue will allow. I saw them last year and the sound was remarkable. No Autotune, no live pitch correction. This is the real deal. They is the best live rock power trio in the world right now and they are just getting going. Their last album Keep Me Fed was #1 on the British Rock charts for several weeks last summer. Right ahead of Dark Side of the Moon.

This is a comment for educational purposes and as a common-sense observation. A band's mission: create music that grabs people and moves them. Music that is infectious and compelling. To present that music faithfully to fans who have paid a lot of money to witness. A fan's mission: to consume, relate to and enjoy that music in its fullest. In order to skip using tracks, a band such as The Warning would have to hire back-up singers to sing the random 2, 3 word phrases once every 5-6 songs. Then a guitarist to occasionally play 15 seconds of extra guitar maybe once every 7 or 8 songs. Then a keyboardist for once every 10, 11 songs. Then a guy to sit there and recreate all the small sound effects a producer insists on sprinkling in the background. Nothing ruins the dynamics of three amazing sisters rocking out more than 5 or 6 people standing in the background waiting all concert like security in order to do 5 seconds of background every 15 minutes. That's some 2024 Rolling Stones bullshit where the OG guys barely can stand there and act like they are playing while a whole back-up "band" plays in the back. Would you rather they play a stripped-down version for the people who paid big money to travel to see you rather than the full experience? Just like bass players who think a pick is sacrilegious, we all need to understand that the music is paramount, and whatever means it takes to fully express it is only proper. Any less is cheating the consumer. I don't believe you meant offense, but the words "only real rock bands..." cannot be taken any other way than offensive, because the reverse is "Using any tracks makes you a fake rock band" and that's narrow-minded and uninformed. However, in your case, I know it was semantics, NOT offense, so relax, I ain't mad!! Subscribed to see your mind blown!!

As everyone said, checking out The Warning is the way to go for someone starting off. The easiest may be to start with the first song at the Pepsi Center and proceed in order, there are some songs that you'll likely want to pair together into one reaction - TWA will let you know, if you do choose that plan. Get ready to be happy! You've just found your new favorite band, even if you don't know it yet!!

Just subscribed in hopes of more The Warning. I recommend checking out Dust To Dust/Dull Knives live at The Pepsi Center. And yes all 3 are excellent vocalist.
They only do solos if it fits the song, never just for the sake of doing a solo. If you want one check out the songs "Z", "Narcisista", or "Queen Of The Murder Scene"
