You had so much rudder play during take off that I was starting to think it was DCS with the default axis bindings.

I got to hang with the L-39 crew at Oshkosh back in 2013. Great bunch of guys, not sure I would ever get in a jet without an ejection seat. Speaking of which, when I was there they held a memorial party for a long-time L-39 member who had just crashed a few weeks previously.

Hi, I'm happy, that you enjoyed our L-39. As I'm working at Aero Vodochody, I saw many aircrafts for many customers 🙂 and have to say, L-39 NG, or Skyfox should I say, it's completely different aircraft. Didn't have opportunity to fly it, but what I heard from test pilots, reaction time of new engine is on next level. Even HUD brings a lot for pilots.
Again, I'm happy, that you enjoyed our aircraft 👌👍

What a great experience. Good for you. With 3700 lbs of thrust, this is one engine in a T-38 or military thrust of one engine in an F-5. The T-33 had 5,000+ lbs thrust an a turbojet. My father regularly saw FL450 in the T-Bird. Seems odd a modern trainer would have less thrust/performance. The low bypass turbofan and turbojet like air. Need lots of it to get the performance, as you experienced. Great video. Happy for you.
