Marvel has failed because when inclusivity and diversity are the most important qualities about your movie/show, it's guaranteed to be an utter flop.

Aside from the attempts at social engineering, the other big problem is that the mindset in Hollywood is 'content creation' rather than 'good storytelling'.

-Killed off or retired most of the heroes
-Killed off or turned most villains into a joke
-New heroes/villains/stories are boring, derivative, or just a vehicle for lame jokes
-Pumping unwelcome diversity junk into stories that does nothing for the plot or characters
-Calling angry or dissatisfied fans names and dismissing their criticism
-Hiring the most insufferable people to act or direct their projects
-Treating the closest thing to modern mythology as ‘content’ to be churned out like a factory assembly line

Lol Disney

I just don't understand why they have to destroy characters that have been loved for decades now to be inclusive, create new ones. Did she just say the X-Men is outdated due to it being called X-Men? Wtf?

"stage 5 and 6".  At least cancer has the decency to stop at stage 4

"The canceled Batwoman was the most profitable DCEU film of the year"

🤣😂🤣😂

I’m just impressed by all this, if you went back in time and told a teenage me “there will be multiple marvel movies a year, PLUS shows. And you’re gonna not only hate it. But stop reading comics all together” I wouldn’t believe you.
They literally turned a life long marvel fan into an active hater.

I feel the only way MCU can be saved is in Deadpool 3, Deadpool goes back in time in 2019 and shoots all the Disney Execs and makes sure none of this crap was made. Boom, clean storytelling while they make fun of themselves. Win-win situation :P

There is a difference between writing characters for stories and writing stories around characters.

"Escapism is important, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise."

You hit the nail on the head. In today's day where everything is depressing, scary, and uncertain, escapism helps people get through one more day. But how can we escape for just an hour from our reality when the writers shoehorned poorly hidden allegories (if not blatantly spelling it out) about the real world in our escapism? I'm tired of being preached at, and I'm tired from all the real world horrors. I need that hour or two to recharge and recenter.

‘Apathy is the killer’. So true.
The most significant part of your review is at 19:00. The reflection on escapism, & the importance of storytelling. Powerful. This human element has been overlooked and replaced by algorithms and sales data.
Thanks for sharing.

For me it's
-absence of stan Lee's guidance
-disney on being too woke
-the target audience is basically more on males and they fail to reach out the expectations.
-the emergence of female superheroes and lack of more introductions of male superheroes

as a lifelong fan of Marvel comics and Stan Lee’s/jack kirby's iconic creations, it’s destroyed me to see what Disney has done

"Escapism is important."  That single statement right there is what entertainment is supposed to be.  We watch these movies and read those comic books to get away from the crush of reality and the constant perils of the real world.  Well said, sir.

The last few minutes of your video almost had me in tears. I live on my own and rarely see or speak to anyone so the characters in the movies and comicbooks I like feel like friends to me. I find great comfort and peace spending time with them. In the same way, I love watching your videos as again, it feels like I'm spending time with a friend. It was great to hear you say what I have been feeling for so long. These stories and characters matter to us. They get us through tough times which is why it's so hard to watch them be destroyed in real time. When you don't have much, you cherish the few things you do have. I'm not racist or sexist or any kind of phobe. I just want the things I love and have invested in to be respected.

Diversity is good when it exists naturally; when it's not talked about. Hollywood doesn't use diversity because it's helpful for social change, and you know this because 70% of their marketing strategies for their content is, "look how diverse this cast is. We made that!"

The ending of this one was Surprisingly heartwarming. Plus Gary made it through an entire video without mentioning One Piece? Good stuff team Nerdrotic! Hail to the fellowship!

"Escapism IS important."
So well said, Brother Gary!  Your closing remarks brought a tear to my eye AND put a grin on me mug.  Thank you for keeping me entertained, it really does help!!

Killing off all your established characters with any charisma and charm and replacing them with people who have zero charm, appeal or personality,
then insert writers who only care about themselves and their ideals with zero regard for characters lore and history.

People’s weird crush on Loki isn’t going to save your brand.
