Your choice of 10 2025 favorite books are so relevant. You could be the most relevant booktuber! Amazing lady!

The way you describe the books says so much about balancing reading deeply and reading a lot. Just from how you describe these books, I love how you've balanced the two. It's a skill remembering what is read, especially when you read a lot. It's yet another skill describing a book well. Loved this video. Lovely to find your channel.

210 books is unreal

200+ books! Wow! Congratulations! I’d love a video about tips on how to read more :)

Virginia Woolf once wrote that Middlemarch by George Eliot is one of the few English novels written for grown-ups. She also said that Eliot “was one of the first English novelists to discover that men and women think as well as feel, and the discovery was of great artistic moment.” Middlemarch is my favourite book of all time and I think you would enjoy it too!

First off, 210 books is insane! Does time move slower in Germany or something? Lol. Anyways, congrats! I only managed a measly 43.
Here's my top 10 for 2025:
1. One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (the best kind of fever dream)
2. To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf (mended my brain broken by no. 5)
3. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte (she'd be really cool to hang out with)
4. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (wouldn't recommend hanging out with this bunch. damn!)
5. Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf (broke my brain)
6. Perfume by Patrick Suskind (weird and messed up in the most beautiful way)
7. 1984 by George Orwell (literally 1984)
8. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas (long-ass book but such a breeze to read that you almost feel you're cheating by calling it long)
9. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte (unhinged)
10. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley (almost cried at the end, almost)

Honourable mentions: Dubliners by James Joyce, Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, and The Code of the Woosters by P.G. Wodehouse. Cheers!

The energy is infectious! I would definitely read more books this year following your recommendations.  Thank you.

there is magic in the way you describe books ❤

I started the new year picking up Moby-Dick. It had been on my tbr since I graduated from my lit degree 5  or 6 years ago. So far, one of the most profound and philosophical novels I have ever read. And that is saying a lot when you have read the likes of Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, the Brontë’s, or any other classic. Have you read it? If so, is it as life-changing as they say? If not, I think you’d enjoy it enormously.

A big virtual hug,
Crissy

P.s: i’m so happy you mentioned Don Quijote being your happy place. In Spain, we have to read it when we’re 15 or so, and it really was such a joy. I even have my beautiful classic copy my grandmother gave me from the early 1900s in that rustic Golden Age Spanish.

Ive been looking for new people who make content about books and this channel is exactly what I needed. The way you talk about books is deeply insightful and gets to the core of what I look for in fiction, you have incredible taste. So glad I found your channel!

I'm sorry this is off-topic, but you are so kind and sweet. Ever since I found your channel, I've been eagerly waiting for everything you have to say. I relate to your excitement about books. I hope you continue to talk about books with a smile in the future. Good luck!

Hello, Vanisha! Thank you for sharing your best books of the year. It is really admirable that you have read over 200 books this year. We share our sentiments regarding the Dumas, Cervantes, and Milton books. I will have to check out the other books, especially Han Kang, as you seem to be showering it with praise.

Of the books I read, the complete stories of Chekhov and Maupassant were some of the highlights. A book by Chesterton called Tales of the Long Bow where, in each story, seemingly impossible things happen (like someone eating a hat, pigs flying...) was very funny and unique. Hawthorne’s The House of the Seven Gables was also a great one; the atmosphere he generates and maintains is unparalleled.

And, since you liked Diary of a Nobody, I’d recommend Three Men In a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome.

Tschüß! Have a great week! ❤️

It’s always great hearing your thoughts on books you enjoyed. The way you describe them is such a great reflection of your intelligence, compassion and overall wonderful character. That’s why I always look forward to seeing your videos.

My favourite book of last year is a tie between Deathless by Catheryne Valente with the gorgeous and haunting line “Walk the same tale over and over, until you wear a grove in the world, until even if you vanish, the tale would keep turning , keep playing like a phonograph” and A hero of our time which is just full of the most heartbreaking and memorable quotes by the one of the few literary characters I think is truly deserving of the title Byronic.

So cheers to another year of great books that  touch our souls 💕

What a wonderful channel.. 💞

My top 5 books out of 100 read are:
1. Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
2. I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman
3. The Unconsoled by Kazuo Ishiguro
4. A Pale View of Hills by Kazuo Ishiguro
5. The Wall by Marlen Haushofer

I love seeing Ishiguro on your list! He's my favorite living author. I check every couple of weeks for any news whatsoever of a new book from him.... nothing yet 😭

I read Piranesi in the beginning of 2025 and it absolutely demolished me. It changed the way I read and the way I view the world. I have so much gratitude for that little book.

I love how you describe the books and your enthusiasm for them ❤

i smiled throughout this whole video! <3 your enthusiasm and love for literature is truly contagious, in the best way possible!

I agree with so many of these.  I have yet to read, the Septology, but I have it on my shelf and I also have not yet read Paradise Lost but it’s definitely on my TBR.  Recently found your channel and love it! I love how you speak about books.

With 210 books read in 2015, are you only reading in English?
