PSA: If you’re watching this and reverse bleeding it isn’t cutting it and you know everything is sealed etc. Try forcing back pressure by taking the slave cylinder off and pushing that piston in by hand then pump it up with the lever and repeat until no bubbles come out of the master cylinder reservoir when you compress the slave.

What can cause a clutch biting point to be right at the initial pull of the lever?

@PortandLochadventures 5 months ago

My bike would die with the clutch pulled in. Warm or cold it wouldn't run. Idle was set perfect. Bled the clutch over and over and eventually a few chunks of assembly lube came out. Weird one off issue but might help someone sometime.

Thanks for the info on the lever being hard to pull. I had loosed some screws to make it easier to get to the bleeder bolt and couldn't figure out why the lever went from mush to hard to pull. After watching your video I ran out and tightened everything back down at the slave cylinder and it works fine again.

after draining, i use a pump oil can(Orileys) filled with dot3 and a clear 1/4" tube on the opened bleeder nipple connect to the oil can nippled spout. with the clear tube full, connect to nipple and pump the dot3 fluid up into the system, Zero air can get in since your going from the bottom up. method works great on brakes as well.

Thanks for the video. I have a question : how much resistance should one expect when pushes slave cylinder with a finger, (when clutch lever is not pulled) ? I can do it' with a finger, but with considerable pressure. Some say it should be very light. Trying to diagnose hydraulic problem...
