I think some of Albert's neroctic behavior comes from the fact he was constantly worried his wife would go mad. You have to remember mental illness was in their family.
Victoria was prone to depression and angry outbursts. She could very well have been suffering from a mood disorder.
Albert was controlling, absolutely, but he did think he was helping his wife.
It does make sense she mourned Albert, but she was human, she probably loved again, just not in the same way

Personally I think that Victoria and Albert loved each other and Albert's biggest desire was to have a role, work, that he could do. As for Victoria, he lengthy mourning was something she enjoyed. She ended up using that mourning as a weapon to get her way. She always seemed to find another man to be with her whether it was John Brown or Abdul.
