We don´t deserve Yuval .. he is such a wise, rational historian. We will be too late to listen to his advices one day .. and then will look back and say: "he warned us".

What he doesn't say is the simplicity that we evolved dominating in zero-sum games (winners and losers), and this is now wired into our basic neurobiology.  While some sapiens have evolved past it, most "sapiens" have not.    We are predators (our diet reveals that).  Weekend television is filled with examples of zero-sum games.  Many (most?) board rooms are run as zero-sum games.  If we teach this to AI (by our actions, as he points out) we will lose - and potentially not by AI dominating us but rather by our own in-fighting in competitions to gain the power of AI.  If we want to survive and flourish the agenda of THIS era is straight-forward: Do no start children into life by showing them how to compete (evolution's old agenda), but by showing them how to strive (seeking answers and creations without focus on winners over losers).  We must learn how to avoid creating "losers" by creating "winners".  However, perhaps only a small percentage of current "sapiens" can understand this as a livable lifestyle.  Arguably most males (but not females) believe that "nothing will be done if we don't compete".  This is naive, but a prevalent viewpoint.  There are paths to achieve the goal of striving over competing.  However, the question is whether humans are capable of embracing this perspective (a neurobiological discussion).  Time WILL tell.

The discussion on religion was fascinating.

Bravo Yuval Noah Harary

Bankers and anyone should remember, whatever job you’ve got that you are also a son or daughter, a brother or sister, a mother or father, cousin, aunt, grandparent, a friend!
Don’t think if something happens over there over here you wont feel any change. We are one whole organism. If we start to live by that, we can save ourselves. If everyone thinks about the good of everyone, everyone is safe and loved. If we keep thinking about our own problems only, we stay alone, separated and weak.

❤❤❤❤ amazing talk !!!! So educational and inspiring ❤❤❤❤

You can see that someone has a huge self esteem when you make a general comment and they say: "I would never do this".

I like your well articulated and fascinating thoughts, Youval !

2:51 This is the thought about AI that lives rent free continuously echoing in my mind...

well explained out with clarity by professor and the interviewer also questioned to real situations

I love him ❤ ... very smart and human!!!

Brilliant. Thankyou WSJ Leadership Institute,  thankyou Poppy Harlow, thankyou YouTube, for sharing this urgent and vital information. This is information that all of humanity needs to know about  yesterday!!!! Thankyou Yuval Noah Harari for sharing your absolutely brilliant HUMAN intelligence with the rest of us. Companies, governments and individuals at the forefront of developing AI need to be rigorously regulated, held accountable and kept in check for humanity's survival. Groups like WSJ Leadership Institute need to actually ACT with LEADERSHIP, not just talk about it!! So called "democratic" governments won't do anything and/or do it too slowly without effective leadership groups that ACTUALLY CARE about the wellbeing and future of humanity.

Is there part 2?

Michael Polanyi addressed these problems decades ago, which is why many are revisiting his writings.

The universe exist to allow the development of each human intelligence. We each have responsibility for  how reality is shaped based on the individual decisions we make in our own lifetime. Humans exercise our responsibility when we use our gift of intelligence for active reasoning when making decisions.

Amazing!😊

If development 5:40  did not indicate immeasurable loss of existing capabilities to be harmful for posterior cultures in adopting older technologies of the specific 16:22  primitive society they may become subservient in financial interconnections to, then it is based on revising norms of fiscal spending orientated toward 2:54  confidence building setups found destabilising by neighbouring allies of state. Examples 12:18  include GM cropping patterns, temperature control pest works, and 6:03  weather-based transport schedules overseas.

I'd like to reiterate, somehow Nexus is not available in the original language in DE. Why?

Great interview and scary too

Great ❤❤❤
