That guy who keeps showing up is a caricature of the actor Peter Lorre. He was in so many Looney Tunes cartoons, he's practically an honorary Looney Tune himself at this point, to where he was even in that new Coyote vs ACME movie that just came out.

The one looney to rule them all
The big chungus

Imagine Lilly with these noises, causing mischief

You know, funny story about The Loony Toons. The actors Peter Crushing (Tarkin from OG Star Wars) and Christopher Lee (Count Dooku from Prequel Star Wars) were at the showing of a film of theirs, I think The Gorgon, but before the movie played they showed some Loony Toons cartoons before the movie played and they were laughing so damn hard that they were kicked out of the premier for their own movie!

"Why does he look like a pimp?" -- he was imitating a contemporary comedic actor at the time, Danny Kaye. Brocolli hair before it was even a thing and a fake Russian accent were some of his IDing markers. That later bit with Bugs Bunny @ 9:24 was a Danny Kaye thing.

"Who is this guy?" -- Pastiche on Peter Lorre, Hungarian actor known for suspense and horror (and a fantastic turn for comedy in "Arsenic & Old Lace"), particularly later in life with Roger Corman's movies. One of the first movie serial killers in Fritz Lang's 'M' (another great film). Usually was on the same cast list with Sydney Greenstreet in the 1940s.

"stag reel" -- lol what they called p*rn in the 1940s. he thought he was showing his highlight reel to demonstrate why he deserved the oscar.

This compilation had a couple of bits from 'Private Snafu' -- shorts the war department would show to soldiers that were "hey, don't be an idiot about this kinda of stuff" but through Chuck Jones' lens and written by Doctor Seuss before he switched to children's books. But not the only time the two would collaborate on cartoons.

There are some Tex Avery compilations worth checking out, too-- his stuff at MGM was even thirstier and even more deranged than what he made with Warner Brothers, and I wanna say the lizard stripper was one of his ideas.

4:45 "I HATE THOSE DOVER BOYS!" 😂❤

The Rubber Band...band is a cute idea.

3:12 Peter Lorre, a heavily recognized Hollywood actor noted for his thick and very imitable accent. He's been referenced so many times in cartoons even outside of the Looney Tunes.

0:39 chat did you hear that laugh? Brother, she IS a Looney Tune.

the quote "ugly man" is beloved character actor Peter Lorre.

Something people don't really seem to remember: cartoons like Looney Tunes and even a lot of classic Disney shorts were made for adults, because they were played at theaters prior to larger films, and adults are the folks going to theaters. It used to be a rather high-class event to go to the theater; both for plays and movies. The kind of event where you're usually going to dress in formal clothes and leave the under-15 kids home unless they were really well behaved. It wasn't until the Home Television became more widespread that cartoons would start being made with the under-15 audience in mind (harder to watch something raunchy when the kiddos are present); and it wasn't until the late 1970s and early 1980s that animation turned into what we usually think of as kid's entertainment or otherwise immature content (a stigma that we're still trying to break away from).

2:33 Good job Daffy

5:14 you never know

7:20 y'know it's terrifying to know that he snapped that wooden baseball bat 3 times with ease. Didn't break a sweat or wasted energy

Oh I remember the old VHS tapes of the Loony Toons.....they were WILD. Stuff even adult cartoons wouldn't get away with today.

3:07 Peter Lorre, or at least an impersonation of Peter Lorre, he shows up everywhere in animation, especially for horror stuff.

Favorite quotes:
1. he fall down, go- BOOM!
2. TURN OUT THE LIGHTS!
3. I AM A WABBIT!
4. BE QUIET! SHUDDUP!

2:56 The OG Lusty Argonian Maid.
9:04 I wish she coulda seen Tweety Monster if she liked that one.  That thing gave me nightmares on the Sega Genesis when I was a kid.

LillyVinnily You always bring such fun energy to these videos ❤🔥

ALSO, FUN ANIMATION HISTORY FACT: One reason why a lotta these old Looney Tunes cartoons are so wild is because they were made for adult audiences! These weren't actually originally made for television; they were made as animated shorts that would play before movies at theaters. And back in those days, that was primarily an adult audience. But eventually, theaters saw animated shorts as risky investments. That forced animation to turn to TV, which forced studios to start focusing more on quantity rather than quality. That led to stuff like the old Hannah Barbara cartoons like Scooby Doo and Flintstones, which adult audiences weren't as interested in. But the children were. That lead to animation starting to be marketted more towards the child demographic, with Saturday morning cartoons, educational cartoons and cartoon shows that were basically toy commercials. And that's how animation came to be seen as "just for kids" in the modern day!
