Consider the first law of robotics, no robot can hurt a human... unless you can redefine what a human is. 4D chess by Mothers Sphere.

I've played a lot of games in the last couple years. Usually I finish a game I put it away on my shelf and I never touch it again, it's mostly due to modern game design not resonating with me.

I completed stellar blade recently, then I ran through it again, which is something I never do. And I can't stop thinking about it every day at work I think about this game, and not just because it has attractive women in it. I adore the design of the world the game the atmosphere, I love all the characters. In the story I know some people think it's lackluster but for me it hits right home I enjoyed every single side quest. And after work today I'm going to get right back into the game and do it again. This is the only game in a very long time that has me thinking about it so much.

33:44 isnt the giant space alpha naytiba made of andro-eidos who couldnt flee to the colony?
Also Orcal said "i am the first fusion between an andro-eidos and a naytiba. I am the first alpha naytiba." which implies that an alpha naytiba is a fusion between andro-eidos and naytibas

Wow... The last holy chant on Adam's last stand scene!! That theme of the chant has been around all over the places Eve went...  That was Organic humans' legacy.. Andro-eidos took it as their own legacy... What a surprise!!

I like the attention to detail during the 3 endings for when you go outside to meet Mother Sphere

ending 1, killing Adam, outside seems to be noon
ending 2, Lily dies, outside is dusk
ending 3, save Lily and destroy the mech, it's dark outside

I think it refers to you getting the true ending of the game and therefore getting through the day.

Thumbs up for playing it in original Korean. The Korean dub is so much better, the characters actually feel like real people with emotions, english dub seems so flat to me. I did my first playthrough in english and the second one in Korean and man the difference in quality is like night and day. Especially Eve and Raven sound so much better in Korean. Also, I fell in love with the Korean language, its my 2nd favourite Asian language (after Japanese).

A gamera reference?! You my good sir are cultured as hell!

Hey nice overview of the story. Just finished it in PC and I appreciate it as I’m not a completionist type guy who digs through lore. It was a nicely packaged together.

Btw the soundtrack in this game is actually fire.

24:41 not really far from what the story takes us, symbolically speaking. Mothersphere is the real antagonist/Villain of the story.

16:04 It is funny how many reviews and critics of this story in particular tend to rely on saying the story is obvious to say it is a bad story, when they dont even understand the concept in storytelling of the reader knowing what is happening when the characters dont: dramatic irony.

Maaannn that thought about the Raven’s motivation, I totally never even thought about. This was a badass video, man. Well done!⚔️💥🦸🏻‍♂️

I'm very late to the party, but a few points I think differently about, on Orcal, I believe that, after the first naytibas started to breach the surface, but before the final war ramped up proper, Adam started to look for a way to rectify his mistakes (both of creating MS and leading indirectly and directly to the genocide, replacement and eventual erasure of Organic Humans not once, but twice) Orcal was his first attempt, and while unsuccessful, he still saw use in him, so turned him into the first alpha, leading to Orcal likely fighting in the final war as an alpha (which is most likely what he means by 'killed many humans'' as by that point he wouldn't have the memories of the liberation war [the organic human genocide-replacement by mother sphere and the andro-eidos] since it's explicitly stated MS wiped those when she though all the org humans were gone) and as the naytibas went up the orbital elevator, MS ejected the closest colony modules to the elevator, seeing as the naytiba process is highly contagious she wasn't willing to take risks with andro eidos that may possibly be infected, leading to the colony extinction. Orcal survives that, and is aided by the surviving AE humans, leading to his epiphany and losing his will to fight as an alpha and creating Xion to gather the survivors.

About Raven, her mind collapsed and she went insane upon discovering the truth and having no one to discuss it with and keep her grounded, since all her companions were gone. Adam took advantage of her fragile mental to reveal himself and turn her against MS completely, which in turn caused her to develop a sort of obsessive love/extreme devotion to him, viewing him as something akin to a God, and extreme resentment towards MS. Raven would most likely still be a viable candidate for the fusion, but Adam took notice of her unstable mental state and decided that an individual without humanity like her wouldn't be a good fit since she'd be unpredictable in how she'd make use of her powers, and most likely not in a way Adam would approve of. All the while he still saw use for her, so he turned her into an Alpha. Another thing I've seen pointed out, is how both Eve and Raven have vastly different clothes when compared to the rest of the airborne squads leading some to speculate that every squad has an individual that is 'special' compared to the rest of them (the squad's ''Eve'', seeing as Raven's suit also has Eve written in places, and the 'Eve Protocol' title, etc.) and those are the ones that would work for Adam's plan (like Raven, Eve, the 6th Squad's Eve we saw in the very first SB reveal teaser, etc.). Adam likely has been attempting that plan with every new squad that is sent to Earth, however, Raven, holding a grudge for not being the ''chosen one'' for Adam's plan, works to thwart every attempt to show Adam she's the one he should pick, just like she did when she explicitly targeted Eve at the start of the game, before she enters the nest, and tried to make use of Tachy as an alpha to destabilize Eve so Adam wouldn't see her as worthy (thus when Eve swears revenge against the black naytiba, she ends sounding just like Raven, driven by rage and revenge instead of humanity, which is what prompts Adam's comment, since he carefully plans Eve's journey so that while she still learns the truth of MS, the A-E and the Naytiba, she doesn't lose her humanity and go insane like Raven did bc she still has friends in the people of Xion and Adam and Lily keeping her grounded) and Raven's actions are likely brought up elsewhere (I think it's the singing angel sidequest, or a damaged Legacy, but I'm not sure) where it mentions ''there is a traitor among us" or something along those lines.

This comment is long enough as it is, but just a few more points I'd like to bring up, Enya is very likely to be from the first few generations of Andro-Eidos with their own AI created directly by MS, as in her sidequest, when you visit the Opera House and discover bits of her past, one of the data entries you find there mentions her as ''the first synthetic artist" and the title of the play being 'Madama Machine' supports that imo.
And on the Demogorgon and Democrawler, they're also an Andro-Eidos based naytiba, as they were formed by the AE that couldn't make it into the colony and ended up stuck in the orbital elevator, consumed by feelings of fear, despair, resentment towards MS, the Colony, and its inhabitants, which is why Eve reacts with pity upon seeing the Democrawler, as she recognizes that the faces inside the black blob are AEs, and it's made clear multiple times in spire 4 that the Naytiba infection isn't limited to organic matter and it thrives just as well with inorganic matter and even being able to corrupt AIs (as it happens with the RAFFY computer on the last log, with its last thoughts devolving into the killing instinct towards the AEs), and that, feelings can somewhat survive and influence the infection, as seen with Belial and its rage over being abandoned, and with Demogorgon's objective being gathering enough mass to stretch towards the colony and get their revenge.

Very sorry about the massive wall of text, it's just not that often that I get to really discuss things about this game, most of the time all I see is ''gooner game, no story, bootleg Nier Automata" and stuff like that and it's tiring seeing something I like being treated that way. If you took the time to read my ramblings, thank you very much, and I hope you have a great rest of your day

Thank you for bringing up the tetrapod fiasco, because while it was ultimately good for the gameplay to have it there for traversing to a different area, it annoyed me from a storytelling perspective. That ship can still be found in the areas you would typically find it, like in Xion and next to the first Levoire, and they talk like nothing was wrong with it. But then you proceed with main mission, and we are reminded that the tetrapod was damaged. Shift Up REALLY could've done more to not break the immersion.

With all that, while I do agree that the execution of the story wasn't strong, the world building and the philosophies in it were, in fact, great. It doesn't hide its influences whatsoever, but it still managed to be its own thing. It was also thanks to its lore that I ended up liking Adam as a tragic figure a whole lot. And regarding how much thought was put into the lore, consider the description of beta cores, and how that can lead to Eve being able to use beta moves as well as doing a fusion-ha with Adam, or alternatively how she can beat Adam despite the fact he one shots Providence while still as a human.

Overall genrally an informative and extremely entertaining video. I really enjoyed it!

My headcanon for why Lilly is in her pod is because of the 7th Airborne Squad attack - she's a support unit so I assume her pod is sturdier, and probably has a beacon to guide the other Andro-Eidos towards her. She went there to be safe and wait for rescue.

The main story is kind of lackluster, but the side missions in the characters of their stories are kind of heartwarming and relatable at times depending on the situation they are in and the world.

Stellar Blade is a game with fun combat, good music, attractive MC, interesting story and all of this was worth my time. I had a lot of fun and I hope for more DLCs before the Sequel that has already been announced and I will certainly buy it.

Stellarblades story is very good when you actually pay attention. Think about it she never needed the alphacores those ancient looking buildings were made to look that way to fit adams plan to convince an angel to fuse

The only bug I experienced was in matrix 11. You know the part where you're in the train graveyard and it's flooded. And you got to get the code and open the door to get through to the next part. Once you get through the door there's a checkpoint and if you don't check into the rest area if you die during that qte event where they're chasing you.. you respond back outside the door and it is impossible to open it so keep that in mind if you're ever in that spot again. I had to restart the game 25 hours in

A game of the year for me .
