Ledger's Joker was simply outstanding, peerless, every single second of it on the screen was hypnotizing, chaotic, polarizing and utterly incredible, Heath took the Joker character and made it his own, his larger-than-life, magnus opus of acting.
Rest in peace, Heath, your legacy will live forever
But yeah, originally, he wasn't supposed to die. There was actually a scene towards the end where he had become Joker's puppet, but it was cut from the film—like so many other scenes.
Heath Ledger died six months after filming wrapped; he was working on another movie (which he didn't finish) while The Dark Knight was still in post-production. They had to re-edit the film and change the script on the fly because there were supposed to be three movies—a direct sequel and two standalone films featuring him—so his death forced them to make massive changes to the movie.
first time just a cut second time second cut there is no third time
they quit doing it after Capone went to prison now they straight up shoot em
Edit: Also remove Just Trust Ash, he is annoying to watch.
