Sooo....we bassicaly  had a shitty finale for House of Cards for nothing?

I don't know, because media narratives are a lousy substitute for the Truth that only being there in person can reveal. There's an inherent distrust of anyone who reaches his level of wealth and power, esp. when combined with a career that is ostensibly professional lying, but regardless we have GOT to evolve past this impulse to worship or demonize public figures like we know them, or have any stake whatsoever in their messy private lives just because they perform for our entertainment.

Tbh I don't really care in the long run, but being legally acquitted doesn't mean someone is innocent morally or ethically; e.g Bill Cosby or possibly what will happen with Lindsay Clancy.

I want Kevin Spacey back he is awesome!!!! we missed 9 years of amazing performances and a really good ending for house of cards.

I will always watch The Usual Suspects anytime I have the opportunity...

Plenty of people forgive and forget if they like the actor/politician/teacher, etc, just because they like them.

Cancel culture greatest trick was convincing the world Kevin Spacey can't exist.

Great one, thank you 👊

Really interesting video.

The Negotiator is one of the best, not as a powerhouse emotional performance, but it showed him in a fun action way, like The Ref

Interesting content.

What is that track in the background??

Great essay. Was thinking a lot of the same things recently.

The man who admitted to being "too handsy." We aren't living in the era of "Mad Men".
The man who put out a video in which he pretends to be his fictional character... defending  his real personality, Kevin Spacey. Why couldn't anyone talk him out of that absurd choice?
The man who didn't say he was gay until he was accused of a crime. Who would claim him?
The man who, in conclusion, is in need of serious psychological help. He might be a self-proclaimed sex addict. But I think he's got a narcissist personality disorder and he committed some crimes. I sure hope he gets treatment for that. And I hope for his sake he admits he acted with narcissism. Because I enjoyed his work. I saw the video he made, pretending to be his House of Cards character. I can't unsee it. Like they say: You can't unring a bell. The actors who defended him seem cool, but you can't unring a bell.

Omg it was almost ten years ago!? 🤦‍♂️ feels like last month or something.

@20:42 You can skipped American Beauty??? How??? 😮

He didn't do himself any favors with his creepy ass Christmas videos.

This is a well made video.  This is definitely a complex topic.  On the one hand, I believe in accountability and holding people responsible for their actions.  However, when someone who has been proven innocent in court and has gone to lose everything…the question has to be asked:

At what point do we stop punishing someone and start forgiving? How long should it be until someone is allowed to have a second chance?

That’s a question that I don’t have an answer for; but I think it’s time to start having an honest conversation about whether the punishment fit the crime and when does redemption begin?

He did try to 'gay out of jail' when it all went down, though. Gotta go all-in on those oppression chips.

Very well written and made.
