Opened for full operation in late 2025, the 130-km high-speed line forms part of Austria’s new Southern Railway corridor and is designed for speeds of up to 250 km/h.
The highlight of the route is the impressive Koralm Tunnel, stretching nearly 33 km beneath the Koralpe mountain range, making it Austria’s longest railway tunnel and one of the longest rail tunnels in the world. Thanks to this engineering masterpiece, travel times between Graz and Carinthia have been dramatically reduced, transforming regional and international rail connections across the Baltic–Adriatic Corridor.
