Recently I went over to Rift Amps for a 3 day course on how to build a British style amp - a JTM45 basically! It was great fun, lots of soldering too... and I ended up with an amp that I really like.

I make my own guitars, amp and cabinets. It kina spoils things in a way. I used to lust after getting a certain item, now i just make it. The quality is what you make it.

You’re a pretty talented and smart guy figuring out how to make guitars and amps. Not everyone has that ability. Glad I found your channel James. And as I said before the better the gear the more I enjoy watching you buy it. Love it. Cheers as always.

Congratulations on the build! I built a tweed circuit about 10 years ago. It was a great experience and I’ve still got it. Taught me a lot about valve amps, speakers, cabinets, etc. You might have just inspired me to do another build!

It is a very nice sounds amp. Great tones and depth. It definitely has that IT factor. Great job.

Just subscribed. Love how you don’t muck around. From a ‘58 korina explorer to that damn Bartel Roseland 🔥 you are really displaying all the stuff dreams are made of and I’m here for it.

Sounds Fucking gorgeous! That age ol’ balance between the American and British sound, but by British we mean to say that magical blues thing from the later ‘60s, not the chunk chunk that rock was bastardized into. I’m always creating my “blues breakers” with Britishy pedals into American amps. But I actually just got to have an inservice from Mitch Colby himself at NAMM a couple weeks ago and now I’m craving one of his Parks.

Very nice sounding amp! I've held off on buying any JTM45-style amps for a while, as I also plan to build my own eventually.

Sounds great. I'm also very partial to your Magatone.

Sounds killer man, I bet it sounds even better knowing you made it!
I’ve gone through every fender/tone king (tweed, blackface, brown, etc..) and I finally settled on a Friedman twin sister. I guess the sound in my head has always been British 😂

I would like to thank both yourself and your blue flat cap or another fine episode 🤣 Your new amp sounds great, top job. I would also like to say that your playing has really improved James. Not that you were bad before, but the hard work I presume you are putting in is paying off bigtime. 👍

Hey James I feel you should delve into speaker's more to get to the tone you are looking for Less efficient speaker's give you less of the stiffness your getting from these very efficient amps and cabinets Just a thought you might want to consider It really is a huge part of the tone equation Cheer's

Killer tone! love the JTM 45 :D
Do you have a new tattoo on your right arm?

i think JTM45 with a strat is perfect, might be my favourite clean tone too. gonna be awesome comparing with an original one!

Hi James, I'll never be able to afford a 2 rock, but after trying a bunch of amps, I commissioned a hand wired jtm45 clone with a tube rectifier that runs on KT66 power tubes. I got a post PI master volume installed in it and put a Legendary Tones Lynch Mod in V2 socket of the preamp. It's now my very favorite amp! I run it through a 2x12 loaded with a Celestion Alnico Gold and a G12H30 70th anniversary speaker. For me it's perfection incarnate! How do you like the one that you built?
