From the classic 1954 Kraken to colossal modern sea monsters measuring hundreds or even thousands of meters, these creatures have made ships, submarines, cities, and even oil rigs look tiny.
In this countdown, we rank 10 of the largest Kraken and Kraken-like creatures ever seen in live-action movies, comparing their estimated sizes and the terrifying destruction they are capable of.
Some are massive enough to attack ships. Others tower over entire cities. And a few are so enormous that they feel more like living underwater mountains than ordinary sea monsters.
From the 23-meter Kraken in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and the 30+ meter Mega Octopus from The Meg 2, all the way to the gigantic Karathen from Aquaman and the estimated 3,000–4,000-meter Kraken from Kraken (2025), this list gets progressively more insane.
