Very reminiscent of customs in the fifties .I grew up in the fifties . Also I had the thrill of meeting George Barril and Ed Roth .at acr shows in Cincinnati .both were great . Peace out. β
That chopped top is a perfect complement to that long low custom Tom. Always look forward to your new builds. Tried to build the Styline version of this kit with those custom parts in 1962 when I was 13 and it whupped me good. Glad to see you taming this beast :)
Brilliant engineering on the chop. The gusseting on the wall mount is what gives it the strength. I'd be more worried about the crappy dry wall anchors pulling out.
I like that you show your work and the process you've used Tommy. Cool that you honour the old customizers designs. AMT Had the top guys in the industry design these options. You're honoring and improving on George Barris, Dean Jeffries et al. My attitude has always been that the box art is a starting point. A challenge to my own imagination and skills
The uv Resin is definitely a game changer! I use it to make bumpers using play doh π£ for the mold! Headlights etc.. look great with that stuff! Just donβt do what I did and use it in the direct sunlight! π Great idea chopping the roof like that! Always something to learn watching your videos! Ted Chopper Lear would be proud of this one! Gonna try this with my 63 Mercury breezeway window build! Been scratching my head for years over doing that roof! What a great looking kustom Tommy! 1/8β rivets make great adapters for mounting model car wheels! I would definitely be sure that mount would hold any of my builds! π πππππ»ππππ«‘πΊπΈ Ps: what a cool build same year i was born to boot π
Love the Kustoms, and friends such as JR ,they are nice to have cause you never know. Very clean chop Tommy, thank you for the tips . I'm gonna check out the UV glue more you put it to use a few times which seems to cut down on the use of putty. I'm for that.. Interesting shelf. Be nice if more older kits would be rereleased. Thanks for sharing
