Halo Campaign Evolved Is A Tragic Disaster

Halo: Combat Evolved is one of the greatest games ever made... so how did the remake miss the mark so badly?

From broken performance and questionable art direction to gameplay changes that undermine the original, I break down why Halo Campaign Evolved feels like another reminder that Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries) still doesn't understand what made Halo special.

I also take a look at the brand-new prequel missions, the new story, and why I think they're an ugly glimpse into Halo's future.

Bungie's Forerunner architecture looked like "brutalism of an advanced civilization", 343's looks like "you're going to trip every 8th step you take"

The teacher handed them the Answer Sheet instead of the Test, and "Halo Studios" still failed. Amazing.

Effing with nostalgia usually ends like this.

Didn't know this was coming out this soon. I added it to my ignore list a while ago.

Gaming peaked in the 6th and 7th generation. That's why they keep going back to it and ruining our memories in the process.

Nintendo patented evolutions so Halo had to devolve

Bought it and refunded it after 112 minutes of play. Ruined story, characters, transed cortana, terrible sprint addition, endless handholding, always online, severe lack of content like multiplayer.... do not buy. Boycot at all costs!

Unmake the remake.

20:20Lt Williams got her whole team killed for “glory”.
They didn’t even volunteer for the one way trip.
Her team deserves to go home and brief the UNSC on what hey learned. 😮
Thought Master Chief got the Demon nickname after he blew up the first Halo ring.

I just bought an original Xbox copy of Combat Evolved for $10CDN. Looking forward to playing the game again.

They should rename the studio to HellNah Studios

Well done video, and I found the way you played with the camera/framing quite amusing

"Buy The Master Chief Collection instead. You get five great games, and Halo 4."

I see what you did there 😂

The human models in the game give uncanny valley vibes

16:45 Same here. Played the OG on a borrowed Xbox doing co-op all the way through with my adopted dad. Halo means a lot to me personally, so it hurts to see it squandered like this. 😞
