as a child of two jamaicans who wasborn in brooklyn, this anti black american sentiment is heavily rooted in outright white supremacist and lowkey classism talking points and it's extremely frustrating cuz any attempt to educate them is met with being called "lazy" and a "yankee"
As a first-generation immigrant American. Growing up in a predominantly Caribbean neighborhood I have never heard this dumb-ass take on Black Americans until I was well outside of my 20s. I hate that they getting fame for say shit we all don’t believe. They don’t speak for us 😢
The idea that the younger generation of Black immigrants are any different is delusional. That's like saying these white kids are less racist than the older generation. People like Kai Cenet and Davinci aren't that old.
I'm was most alarmed dude just came out and said that he thinks they're better. Cam gave the dude a way out on this and dude just took the low hanging fruit.
I don’t think folks are acting like this is exclusive to black immigrants .. I just think black Americans are disappointed. It’s exhausting. For the first time I feel like I understand why FBA is a thing .. this conversation starts to make you wonder is it safe to attempt to be in community with them.
