It's so funny to read YouTube comments about "Lanterns" and learn in real-time who is a larper and who knows the lore.

Like Hal Jordan says, imposters know the specifics but not what everybody else knows.

E3 was review bombed because Reactionaries still want to rewrite the last 300 years of history

Episode absolutely smacked. Kyle Chandler OWNS this role. “Just fucking point!” *WOOSH holy aura. Please keep him around. He’s TOO GOOD.

RIP ma granny got hit by a Bazook

The Guardians are known idiots in the comics.  They recruited guys from waring planets as sector partners during the Rann/Thanagar war, of course they wouldn't know anything about Earth racism.

This is one of the new highlights of my week. Thank you for uploading these.

One thing I’ll say about the Guardians is, in the comics, they personally created racism on Mars. They thought the martians were too powerful, so they altered their genetics to create two distinct Martian races, white and green, knowing that it would lead to infighting and prevent them from becoming a threat. Maybe they changed that in the DCU, or maybe the Guardians do know about racism but don’t really care since it’s beneath them.

Something that's interesting to me is that the Guardians don't know wtf is going on culturally on Earth but still choose to adapt accordingly. John's mom says "even in space y'all don't consider us" which is obviously her PROJECTING based on her very real experience as a BLACK WOMAN, and as the audience we're not meant to think she's making complete sense. She's talking to a literal alien. But at the SAME TIME, the Guardian literally told her that she took the form of a white woman because she found it to be a more disarming and well recieved when dealing with HUMANS ON EARTH. In other words, the Guardian doesn't know enough to realize why that form would have the complete opposite effect on a sub-middle class black woman in the 90s, but knows just enough to use the form to manipulate responses, hence why John's mom continues to treat the Guardian like a white person. It's so crazy how people chose which part to dive into despite all of this being in the SAME SCENE. All the chuds decided that John's mom saying what she said was the show trying to convince us it's true but somehow had no problem with the alien that has 0 empathy speaking from it's own very flawed perspective. Very telling imo

I'm so happy that we have a live action show that's making new people fall in love with Green Lantern. Been reading the comic for years, and was always sad that GL hadn't gotten a worthy adaptation.

The whole show is so good so far

I gotta post more and stop being so lazy ❤

There is also a depth added via retcons on this idea that earth was a backwater for Guardians.

Earth is where they kept the 'entity' hidden in earth and forgetting earth as backwater serves a purpose to keep it hidden within the overarching plot.

Also there's something extra suspicious about the guardian that interacts John's family, so I take all their actions with a grain of salt.

keep the lanterns updates coming please!

That manhunter box tho

I knew it! I suspected Zoe was the manhunter after episode 2 because of how close she was trying to get to John. It makes complete sense for her use to use Will as front for the head of Rushville, to fake her own death and to use that guy at the butchery as as another decoy manhunter. What's really confusing is John's behaviour. Why did he hesitate to reveal Zoe's indentity to Hal, the Guardians or the Hitsquad?! Like did he really fall for Zoe after sleeping with her twice?! He should understand how dangerous Zoe is after having his brain stamped by the history and grief of Antaan's people. Maybe John isn't the perfect Green Lantern that he thinks himself to be.

Batwoman is like lowest chance since the sheriff isn't Kathy Kane (Bruce Wayne's cousin's wife) or Kate Kane whose lesbian. Kate Kane's mother is dead and her sister is a villain. She's probably just a relative of Bruce Wayne and Kate Kane and all in all her name is likely just a nod to Batman existing in the DCU.

The show is fucking lit.

Missed this live, thanks for uploading!
