In this video, I take a closer look at GTA 5 on Xbox 360 and PS3, focusing on things you won’t find in newer versions of the game. Some of these details are easy to miss, others were completely removed over time. It’s interesting how different Los Santos feels when you go back to the old-gen release.

I think the problems in later versions is that they are online focused,PS3 and 360 were still heavily story mode focused

The PS3 and 360 versions had that thing, that magic.

The og version feels sunnier and looks more sun soaked to me it feels like the newer versions are missing something

OG Version: how you see the world as a kid
New Version: how you see the world as an adult

I knew I wasn’t crazy, I remember it being more vibrant and clear , it made the game feel right .

5:13 removing characters holding phones to their ears to not reinforce bad habits sounds hilarious in a game where you murder, rob, extort, use drugs, and wage war against the military.

I miss the wasted sound visual effects on the old versions of GTA V.

i forgot how good the game looked on 7th gen consoles. its nuts how scenes like 13:10 ran on hardware from 2005. if the resolution was a little higher it'd still look modern

Honestly, the best thing they ever did in GTA 5 on Xbox 360 was that drift cheat code. Cars felt loose, fun, and skill-based. I miss that so much — driving never felt the same after 😭

downgrading your game for first person in a game that clearly was never meant to be in first person nor play well at all in first person is crazy

The Xbox 360 and ps3 versions still really hold up really well

No matter the graphical advancements, there is always something special about playing a game on it's native hardware. The experience you get is what the developers originally intended it to be.

The collector's and special editions on PS3/360 would get you a discount and special greeting at Ammunation, which didn't carry over to PC

14:28 – there’s a reason this sound is still iconic, although this version has not been relevant for like 12 years now

You did convince me to go back to the 360 version. And this is the first time in 10 years I've been validated in my observation that they gutted car damage models, and finally I have an explanation!

Ps3 and 360 versions also have left over Midnight Club LA textures pop in 😂😂

5:31 Knew it. The last time I played gta5 I used the bong and noticed it wasn’t all bright and sunny like it used to be way back in the day.

14:40 Wow I never even noticed that bell sound was gone

I remember on the Xbox 360 version you could activate Trevor’s rage ability while falling from the sky or skyscraper and survive! Couldn’t do that on the newer gen consoles though.
