Darryl (Dimebag) Abbott was shot and killed onstage. His wife asked Eddie Van Halen if she could get a replica Bumblebee guitar because Eddie was a big influence for Dimebag. Eddie brought his original Bumblebee and put it in the coffin for Dimebag. He said an original deserves an original.

I am 71. When my daughter was in high school, I read the lyrics on a Pantera CD.  I find it to be important poetry.

Dimebag's solo started and I was like, child, don't you touch that keyboard.

RIP Dime and Vinnie.

We didn't do two-stepping back then, we just headbanged and moshed.  Some guys were violent assholes about it, but most of us just recognized certain realities:  First to the front earned it, don't get physical with women, and never actually strike people, just use your strength and size to wade through the crowd.  I was just a 155lb kid back then, so I had a bit of a hard time getting to the front of shows without getting aggressive.  I regret being such a hothead back then.

Check out the extended version, the intro ties it all together!

“Domination” Live from Russia

The Great Southern Trend Kill 😊

YES!!!! The look on your face during the first 3 seconds of the opening guitar lick is the only appropriate expression when listening to this song. ❤❤❤

I'm 56. This song still gives me goosebumps.

Pantera was one of the bands aong wih Metaliica and ACDC that played that million man concert in Moscow in 1991 that is so epic.  Possibly the coolest concert scene ever.

This is Panteras "mellow" song

Awesome that you kept bringing up "groove." Pantera are the pioneers of the sound and genre "groove metal."

Fucking Hostile next. It's one of the core Pantera songs.

Saw them live in 2000. Best metal guitarist ever imo

One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Also one of my all time favorites.

every single pantera song is fire and gets better through the bands years

That riff lives in my brain rent free. I have also weaponized it to kill songs that get stuck in my head by playing it over and over in my head. RIP DBD.

Perspectives:

I'm 56, and this is still as fresh to me as yesterday. It's hard to comprehend that it was 36 years ago. When I hear it, I'm that 20-year-old again.
