One of my biggest fears in Norway fits inside a small bottle. And I only realized the magnitude of it when I went three days without it.
In this video, I share a very personal part of my life that many people don't see. I've lived with depression and anxiety for years, and recently, going a few days without my antidepressant showed me, in a very harsh way, how much this treatment is part of my routine.
I also recount a situation I've never shared on this channel before: the day my son disappeared for a few minutes at school in Norway. It was one of the greatest fears I've ever felt as a father and an experience that made me think a lot about fear, family, faith, and what really matters in life.
I also talk about what it was like to be without medication, the changes I felt in my mood, sleep, and anxiety, my relationship with depression, and why today I'm no longer ashamed to talk openly about mental health.
I also share a bit about my experience with the Norwegian healthcare system, the care provided by my family doctor, and the difficulty I have in getting more specialized care.
Amidst all of this, you'll get a glimpse into our real life here: Oslo, family, work, autumn approaching, our routine with Noah, and the ups and downs of choosing to build a life far from Brazil.
This video is an account of my personal experience. Issues involving antidepressants, dose changes, or medication discontinuation should always be discussed with a healthcare professional.
