Hey Brandon, I'm really happy that you visited Skopje. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe, and FYI, Macedonia is mentioned in the Bible 40+ times.

I wanted to clear something up regarding the census data. I know you may not care, but I don't want your viewers getting the wrong idea.

Muslims are not even close to 35% in the country. Macedonia has been facing political pressure for the past 20 years, so it is a political census. In reality, the Muslim population is barely 12–15%... and I mean barely. You see, the Albanian political party BDI—which is basically a bunch of terrorists who attacked our country in 2001—brings in Albanians from everywhere to vote when it comes to census counting. Because they've been in power for 20+ years, they print out government IDs in bulk. So we had tens of thousands of Albanians who identify as Muslims come from everywhere and sign up for the census. It's ridiculous, but we are starting to deal with that stuff. Macedonia is almost 88% Orthodox Christian, around 10% Albanian, and 2% other minorities.

The Old Bazaar is a predominantly Islamic place, a leftover from when the Turks conquered these lands. If you visit the rest of the country, you will not see Muslims anywhere except for two or three more cities near the border.

Just wanted to clear that up. Plus, the Muslim people here are not the same as the ones Europe has a problem with. They are mostly generational families and are basically part of the culture—no violence or other b.s.

But with Islam... you never know.

The old local unofficial name of the old market is Turkish Market. It's like wandering off to China Town in NYC and googling if the country is predominantly inhabited by Asians 🙂
