Gen Z is Aging FASTER than they should because they are so stressed. Boomers love to say Gen Z could afford a house if they just worked harder, but they don't realize they stacked the economy against Gen Z.

Aging faster yet growing up slower is a brutal combo

As a genz my biggest regret is not working a full time job at 8 years old, so I could buy a house when I was 10.

I summerize pretty much the entire issues with our generation: the circus is boring, the ringleaders are creeps, and our bread is fake

as a 94'er i still feel that society failed humanity and nature for profit

Ah, yes. The life of homelessness, poverty, loneliness and unemployment. Truly a stress free existence.

Basically in terms of jobs, back then if you could flip patties then you were a nuclear physicist, nowadays if you aren’t a nuclear physicist then you aren’t allowed to flip patties

It’s crazy how like 30 years ago everyone thought the future was going to be amazing, and now everyone is just afraid that the future will bring higher and higher prices. And A.I.

I'm Gen. X, and I'm a girl. If I we're not so concerned about neighbors watching, I'd go out and climb a tree.

Of course, everyone starts to feel stressed and age, because finding a job is practically like looking for a needle in a haystack; after wasting away in school for 16 years only to end up with nothing to show for it, they feel left behind—like they’ve been discarded.

Not to mention everything we do is under surveillance and judgement from the public eye. Every time you mess up its forever stuck online as a video or picture. Theres no room to be human.

i felt irked by the "Gen Z are used to getting everything they wanted" comment. I taught myself, as a child, that if I asked for something, 90% of the time it'd be no which caused me to never actually ask for anything. I also don't see myself leaving the nest until I get a stable, mid career job (if that happens) because housing is so unaffordable. Like others mentionned, I think another factor that plays into everything is that we know it won't get better. I also feel like I didn't get to have a childhood. It took me until I became 18 to do an activity that wasn't tied to my parents.

I’m a domestic violence survivor in a extreme PTSD episode realizing how much I am relating to these Gen Z kids and it’s breaking my heart I’m 41. They’re all in survival mode. No wonder nobody can function.

I'd rather collect Easter eggs than get married, personally

Stress, the food you eat, and a lot of other issues simultaneously

I will say: DO NOT internalize the idea that you are "going to age quickly" or "going to get cancer early" because of information like this. It's interesting from an academic standpoint, but the nocebo effect is a real thing. It's effectively the opposite of the placebo effect, in which a person can have pain or other negative medical symptoms relieved by completely inert sugar pills simply because they've been told it "will work". By convincing yourself deeply enough that you "will" experience a negative health outcome, it can actually occur.

So, learn about these things, but keep the anxiety at a distance.

I'm 33, single, no kids. The only reason I'm doing ok financially is because I stayed at home until recently. If I had a car or bought a house or had kids, I would be struggling
