Honestly it’s such a nice feeling still seeing people get into BOTW in 2025,  makes me think of the year it came out and how much fun I’ve had playing and watching people play it.

you have the PERFECT voice for the old man

I played BOTW on Wii U for the first time as well.

There's a meme picture of each Link from each game saying that they did what they did because someone told them to or because something happened. "I did it because X told me to" or "I did it because Y was threatening the world". And then it gets to Breath of The Wild Link who literally just says "I did it."

This sums up the player SO WELL. You literally do it all. No help, no fairy telling you weakness, it's literally your own sweat from your own brow and nothing else. And all the pride you can have because you DID IT ALL WITH NO HELP.

It's just you. You did it.

The beauty of Breath of The Wild is that every experience is personalized and thusly a treat to watch others experience for the first time over and over again.

While most people gravitate to the "suggested" route of going to Kakariko Village or get sucked into the Zora boss first then the Goron boss second, there's nothing stopping the player from taking the road less traveled by and going straight to the desert because they want a challenge and the ability to nuke their surroundings with lightning whenever they want or going straight to Rito Village because Revali's Gale is a completely broken ability.

You can go wherever you want if you invest enough resources into the endeavor.

It doesn’t look like there was ever a part 2.  It’s a shame.  I know I’m late to the party, but I enjoyed this very much.

Also for those of you just joining us, I have a humble suggestion that will enhance your first time playing experience and make sure that it doesn't get ruined:

Do not use Amiibo to spawn weapons early game. It gets VERY addictive, makes you so overpowered that it ruins the experience and you might accidentally summon Epona when there's no stable nearby to register her. She is a one-time summon and she CAN die so whatever you do, don't turn off your game console if you accidentally summon her and make a beeline to the nearest stable.

She also can be accidentally summoned on the Great Plateau, of which there are NO stables to register her and no way to get down with her. If you DO accidentally summon her, you're gonna have to PRAY you get lucky scanning Amiibo for her to show up. She gets auto-summoned the first time, the other attempts if you screw up are completely random and VERY rare.

I've never seen anyone play the wii u version of the game the graphics difference between this and the switch is actually insane

Oh , what a treat!! Thank you

16:20 no, link is just really really short 🤣

ha! .. you can't fool me! .. You're time travelling Alan Moore!

That metal case is for Skyward Sword.

I first played and beat BOTW on a Wii U--a seriously underappreciated (and horribly marketed) console. Crazy that this was originally going to have the map on the Gamepad, but it was scrapped when Nintendo push ahead with the development of the Switch and realized the game on both consoles simultaneously.

Very fun. Hope you enjoy the rest of he game.

Given that your gripes with the Switch are fixed with the Switch 2 and you can play all of those games, most likely with improved performance, on it, I’m surprised you wouldn’t opt for that. Then again, I’m not blaming you for wanting to use that limited edition Wii U. I’d highly recommend Splatoon if you haven’t tried, amazing games with amazing music, even some metal-like stuff interspersed.

Keep going. Love this game...
