Sorry this one took so long. Hope you enjoy!

Doom 2 streams start Wednesday

You Need Pumpkin Man

the moment i realized he'd never even played doom 1 before i out loud said "oh he's FUCKED"

31:24 Decino does a really good analysis video on the BFG, but the basic idea is that the BFG has two attacks. One is the ball which does 100-800 damage in multiples of 100, and the second is the tracers, which are fired in a 90 degree spread a little under half a second after the ball hits something. The center of the tracer spread is your current position and the direction in which the ball flew (so if you move after firing, this changes where the center of the spread is, but turning doesn't affect the bfg spread after the ball is fired). There are 40 tracers and each roll a random number from 1-8 15 times for damage. This always results in a value between 49 and 87 in vanilla doom and vanilla compatible ports, but the spread is wider in boom, gzdoom, etc. On average, the ball plus all tracers will deal about 3130 damage if everything connects in vanilla and compatible ports, and 3150 in ports with more sophisticated rng.

Anyway, fun video, looking forward to the next Doom II streams!

“The best way to get unstuck is to get off” great bathroom advice

Real ones know this game nearly ended this channel

Beating it on Nightmare, BEFORE beating it any of the humane difficulty levels, without save scumming, is so insanely hardcore!  Mad respect.

BTW if you're feeling bad about E4M6, I'm sure chat told you, but in case they didn't: E4 was not in the original game called "Doom".  It was added a few years later (after Doom 2, even!).  The version with the 4th episode added on, was a re-release of the game called "The Ultimate Doom".

So you can still claim to have beaten "Doom" using your original ruleset, without having to explain the exception of E4M6.

this is unironically inspirational

Congrats man. Patience and resilience, I could not fathom... even attempting this, brilliant stuff!

26:16 - His smile and optimism: Gone.

This is insane.
I’ve played Doom at least once a year for 30 years,
And still struggle with nightmare

I will always love that Nightmare exists because id decided to do a bit of trolling when they got complaints about DOOM being "too easy"

Hehe, love it. I appreciate the effort you put into this.

20:09 I had to rewrite my route for that level because I could never get the plasma secret without getting stuck on the pinkies

awesome video dude. Goodluck with Doom 2

Great job! Can't wait for Doom 2.

I don't know if anyone's told you this yet, but the reason why this difficulty is so unfair is because it was added as a joke after people kept complaining about Ultra-Violence being too easy. None of the devs could beat it, no levels were made with it in mind, and everyone at Id assumed the difficulty was impossible

The old dooms are so much harder then any shooters of that era and even to the modern day

the game was never intended or balanced around nightmare. yes it is possible but its not fun unless you really like torturing yourself and want to beat something that was never intended to be beaten. doom 1 released only with ultra violence as the hardest mode but then some people (back in 93) argued the game was too easy. i wont argue if it was or not, the thing is id software then added this mode just to fuck over these people that wanted a harder gamer. this is not something i make up but something people like john romero publicly stated. they just wanted to screw with people so they added it with a later patch/release. hitscanners wake up faster, shoot much more often and respawn. its just hell but not in a good way. also lets not forget that a lot of people back in 93 played the game with keyboard turn only and even if you had a mouse, fast flicks didnt work that well with bacll mice and low polling rates. you also didnt have an auto aim indicator or a crosshair at all. well and also 320x200 res and max of 35 fps on a nasa pc. most people had 20-35 on a tiny 15 inch screen. so playing it today with all these benefits you have is already making nightmare much more easy and its still insanely hard.

Youshould do wolfenstein its hardddd. Just earned a sub btw love the content
