In the LOTR books, Radagast was mentioned by Gandalf. He was the one that warned him about the ringwraiths heading to the shire, and passed along a message from Saruman, unknowingly leading to Gandalf's capture. In the movie, the lines about the nine was given to Saruman instead. Likewise, Radagast also was behind the eagle saving Gandalf when he sent it to simply deliver a status report, being unaware of Saruman's treachery.

Fili and Kili are the youngest dwarves that is why they look different than the rest

I also vote for the Extended Edition for the next 2 movies.. The 2nd Extended movie in particular (Desolation of Smaug) gives much more depth and storytelling on 2 characters you won't get for only the theatrical version

Actually the fued between Elves and Dwarves goes back to the 1st Age.

Bilbo and Frodo share the same birthday, Sept 22.

The letter on the door in the movie is a G, for Gandalf. In the book its a rune that means burglar.

Yes, Dwarves usually live between 250-300 yrs. Thorin is 195 in this movie. Kili is 77. Ori is the youngest but his age isn't given.

He's right about the Elves. Their past is very complex and there are several different factions and there is a hierarchy.

A box without hinges, key or lid,
yet golden treasure inside is hid.
Answer: Eggs
Gollum: Grandmother taught us to suck on them.
He remembers vaguely having a grandmother probably bc she's the one that banished him after he found the ring. It was the River Folk who named him Gollum.

Riddles in the Dark, where Bilbo and Gollum trade riddles, is actually very accurate to the book.

The old dwarf with white hair and huge beard is Balin, who would later become... the Lord of Moria. The one whose grave was found by Gimli in the mine, with the epitaph: "Here lies Balin, son of Fundin."

I wish you had picked the extended edition.

If Bilbo had killed Gollum, it wouldn’t have been self defense… I’m thinking Bilbo didn’t want to become a murderer and remembered Gandalf saying that courage is also knowing when not to take a life ❤

Fun fact: Gandalf sent a message to Radagast and he sent the eagles to help them...

That means Radagast was alive 60 years later When Gandalf become the WHITE, Radagast sent the eagles to help him When he was in the tower figthing the Demon of fire...

30:15 Isildor ruled from Fornost, the capital of Arthedain in Arnor, the North Kingdom of men (Gondor being the south kingdom of men). This was Aragon's homeland and why he is refered as a decendant of numenor...during the 2nd age, the kingdom fell to Saurons 2nd in command, the witch king, who ruled over the black numenorians and trolls , under the banner of Angmar.

Once the witch king triumphed and the kingdom of Arnor fell, the elves and Gondor united to defeat the witch king and abolish Angmar's reign, they were successful in destroying the army of Angmar... After, they then took the witch kings body and buried it in a prison called the high fells of rhudur...but Gandalf later discovers that the grave site has been opened and the graves are empty....

The tower where frodo got stabbed by the witch king was originally called the great watch tower of Amon Sul which was where the numenorians kept the great Palantir (the big round seeing stone)This campaign story was called the rise of the witch king....after saurons defeat and before the hobbit..alot of events occured..but were never made into a movie... its a real shame..

just a bit of lore...:D

Elves and Men were created by Eru (God) whom the Elves call Ilúvatar, while the Dwarves were created by Aulë (the Vala responsible for smithing, crafting and the materials of the created world).  Aulë’s Maiar followers included Curumo (Saruman) and Mairon (Sauron), suggesting Tolkien believed there was something fundamentally corrupt about the act of material creation.  Aulë was not corrupted, but he was impatient for the arrival of Eru’s Children (Elves and Men) and created the Dwarves out of this impatience.  Eru pointed out to Aulë that his creations could not think or move on their own but only when Aulë thought to move them, and asked if he had sought this kind of control.  Aulë said he never meant this, and offered to destroy them, but Eru took pity on him because of his humility and gifted the Dwarves with true life by blessing them and kindling them with the Flame Imperishable (the source of all life that comes from Eru Himself).  Thus the Dwarves worship a different (lesser) Creator than Elves and Men.  Both Saruman and Sauron embody Aulë’s impatience and desire for control, whereas Eru is fully integrated and understands that if His creation is truly perfected it doesn’t need to he controlled, He sets it in motion and then takes His hand off the wheel and watches it all unfold.  It is the desire to control that ultimately causes ruin, being fundamentally at odds with Eru’s intention that His Children should have wills of their own and the ability to shape their own destinies.

NO SPOILER
You guys remembered this scene 34:55 ?
The Trolls turned to stone story? Bilbo was telling this memory to the children on his birthday at the beginning of the Fellowship of the Ring movie :)) So, the story he told was real.
36:29 .. Also, in the movie The Fellowship of the Ring, when Frodo was stabbed by the Nazgul king, while Aragorn was looking for healing herbs, Sam was showing Frodo these stone trolls. "Look, Mr. Frodo.. These are Bilbo's trolls turned into stone.".. This scene is in the movie The Fellowship of the Ring.

Never clicked this fast!
Love the One Ring inscription on the wall.
Nice to hear that you have rewatched the trilogy on your own.( I have rewatched your LOTR reaction many times since upload too!)
I see that Infinity War has more views than Fellowship Of The Ring, and that makes me sad. But what can men do against such bad taste!

Guessing they broke up lmao

Basic rule for horses is above 14 hands (1 hand= 4"), it's a horse. Below 14 hands is a pony. There are a few exceptions like miniature horses which are really small.

The guy playing as the pale orc is an Australian-New Zealand actor called Manu Bennett. He did a brilliant Shakespearian performance as a Gladiator in the tv series Spartacus.

Imagine having a talent and sceen presence like Lee Pace (Thrandruil, the Elven King) and only using him for 21 minutes total for three films. The man is practically carrying the Foundation TV series with Laura Birn.

26:30 ii think that you two got confused they didnt fight over their home where the dragon is, they fought the orce to reclaim their ancient city Moria remember thats the place where Fellowship went and where they found Balrog

So good to hear from you guys! Hope you're doing well and staying safe out there.

What allowed Bilbo to have a peaceful life and not be wholly corrupted by the Ring before passing it on to Frodo was the fact that he took pity on Gollum and didn’t kill him. How the bearer acquires the Ring has a huge influence on the corruption of the bearer. Because Bilbo acquired it through pity, and passed it on later to Frodo willingly, plays a huge part in both Bilbo’s and Frodo’s ability to withstand the Ring and Sauron’s evil influence.🫶🏻

NOT A SPOILER
1:10:47 ... In this scene, you're probably thinking to yourself, "How exactly did the Ring end up on Bilbo's finger?" Remember this. Just like Frodo... The Ring has its own will. And it always wants to return to its master. With the Ring here with Smeagol, it knew it would never reach its master. The Ring needed another bearer. And the first person to come to Smeagol was Bilbo. And the Ring chose Bilbo. To speed up the journey back to its master. Just as it spontaneously entered Frodo's finger, in this scene, the ring itself makes this exquisite move.
