Very very true.

She couldn't be more wrong about "exactly" what happened in the early Christian movement.  It wasn't simply to "sort it out" or "simplify things".  The year 325 was key.  This was the first major "movement" in the Christian world.  it was NOT about simplifying the message.  It was about turning the message into CONTROL.  The original message of Jesus was one of self liberation.  The Kingdom of God is within each of us.  That message was transformed into a message of lifelong obedience and fear.

Yes, some winners write history but history also corrects it.

The real issue isn't in what was "dropped" and what was "kept".  The real issue is did the message come out intact or did it get twisted like a pretzel?
If you take a recipe for bread and you change it a bit, but you retain it's essence, you end up with a different bread.  However, if you change all the incredients and throw it in the oven, you don't get bread.

regarding ~ 1:30 - 2:30 --   I strongly dispute the idea that the early church fathers and the leaders of the various early Jesus movements were not generally primarily motivated by trying to get other people to accept their own interpretation of the Jesus experience, and were somehow more interested in just creating a cohesive group to simplify things so that the movement could survive. This is demonstrably false in a large majority of cases (then as now). Sure, they wanted a cohesive group -- one where everyone agreed with them.  The competition and disputes between factions were serious and pervasive from 1st century onward.  Its only when the Roman government got involved (e.g. Constantine, who was perhaps one of the earliest examples of this, pushing for the Council of Nicea, etc.) that you have this overriding motivation towards, and vested interest in a cohesive body of belief, practice and culture that would serve to strengthen the society -- that mattered more than the advocacy of a certain set of doctrines & practices.

I was raised by a Christian mother and a scientist ashiest father.   My mother, a nurse was an excellent role model for the Christians that believe in love and caring for all humanity.  Mom never deviated, she was there to serve the poor , she volunteered next to a Jewish doctor as they both attended to poor mostly black people, many were senior citizens.   I will not call myself “Christian” if Christianity is now the MAGA generation, the “new Christians”.   I still believe in a higher power but will NEVER label myself a MAGA Christian because they are not Christian.

All religion is "selective attention" and cherry-picking. That's why no one religion alone can ever encompass the truth -.whatever that is. The wisest and most spiritual people in history gave up religion altogether. As Christopher Hitchens said, in the end it "poisons everything." There is no final, ultimate, all-seeing religion. Religion is just politics dressed up in (bejeweled) robes, superstition, fear, drama, indoctrination, and sanctimony.

You are attempting to discredit the testimonies of the Christian prophets. I have read the books of Enoch and it is abundantly clear they were written not by a prophet of Judaism, and the book takes an entire different take on Enoch. I am personally against the Catholic church and many churches that don't follow Christ's teachings. People who were close to Christ, who knew his followers decided what was of him and what was not. This book of Thomas and book of Mary Magdalene are obvious fakes. There is no way anyone including you can compare Christ's teachings to that of Buddha, Mohammed, Joseph Smith. The evidence is there and the power is with Christ.
