When you first look at a garden like this, it’s very easy to make assumptions.

You wonder how somebody has allowed it to get this bad, why nothing has been done about it, and why a family would continue living with all of this around them.

And I’m sure plenty of people watching will have their own opinions.

But the truth is, none of us really knows what is happening behind closed doors.

The reason this particular job resonated with me was because of Simon’s son, Alfie.

Alfie struggles with anxiety, and he spends a lot of his time at home. But one of the things he has taken an interest in is growing chillies and plants.

That might not seem like a massive thing, but I know from my own experience that it can be.

Welcome to Mountain Garden Rescue 🌿

I’m James — and I clean up seriously overgrown gardens for free to help people who are struggling.

Whether it's due to age, disability, mental health, financial hardship, or just feeling completely overwhelmed, I believe everyone deserves a tidy outdoor space to relax in.
