That feeling you described about not missing shooting on film because the camera gives you a film like experience while shooting digital, is exactly how I feel about my Leica M262. That Hassy looks so sweet!

I shot professionally for over 45 years with a Hass 500 c/m, Mamiyas and large format film
I would have killed to have had a digital back for my Hasselblad. Photographers today are SO lucky.

So, I was a medium format square shooter from when I learned photography to 2006, when I got my first digital camera.  I love the square. It gives you infinite options and you don't have to flip it vertical to take a vertical. That said, a downside with older medium format cameras like this one is the viewfinder image is backward.  Watch this video closely and it will be obvious. If you buy their other, EXPENSIVE, camera, it won't be backward.

In the early 70's I worked at the Commonwealth of  Kentucky's Dept. of Public Information in the photo section. We mainly used the Hasselblads which I never would of encountered on my own. It was a real pleasure to use such a precision, smoothly functioning machine with ultra sharp lenses. After shooting politicians shaking hands in the day time I could use it for my own "art" on the weekends. A real privilege.

It’s a Halzeblad ( wrong spelling sorry) at 15years old  in 1965 i went to work in a photographic shop in london ( Tower bridge Road ) and from that  day photography became my life! after 2years i joined Kodak in London delivering the post to different offices  this gave me a in-site into all the different departments and thanks to there education i started Night school when a vacancy came up in the Motion picture film stock order department i was so lucky to be offered the vacancy i also started 3 nights a week “night school “at paddington college    well to cut-a long story short i was lucky to join the motion picture division taking film orders &  i passed my finals after 4 years & then became the technical contact for Producers, Directors & cameramen in our M P division and to finish this story i became the Motion picture man on TV & Short film & TV stations ! going on shots with directors like Ridley scot, & Alan Parker to name just 2 Directors Thank you Kodak Gordon Craig & Dennis kimbley for all your support. great day’s 🥰

I've been shooting for the last several months on a 500C/M -- with just the regular A12 film back. I started with the waist level viewer, quickly moved to a chimney viewer which is great optically, but not so much if you are hand-holding (awkward angle to hold and look straight down). Then I switched to the first generation metered 45 degree finder -- until the meter died. And finally, happily, to a somewhat newer PME metered 45 degree prism finder. I've been shooting entirely hand-held, and it is fabulous: clear, sharp and accurate. Now, having a digital back would be the ultimate...

I shot weddings in the 1980s.Extra back preloaded. This is amazing. Imagine not running out of film?😄

I would add one of the biggest advantages of shooting the 500 C/M with the digital back: The Carl Zeiss lens system.

Your enthusiasm and passion for this kit is palpable. Thank you for sharing. Now, if you could just find a way to bottle that feeling and share it, I think the world would be a little better place. Until then, I guess I'll just have to keep watching this channel. Cheers.

Fuji need to stick one of their MF sensors in my Yashica Mat 124G!! That would be my dream...... Frame lines on the ground glass for square crop and 5:4, wind on to cock the shutter, MF only and film simulations so no [minimal] editing...... Great video & discussion :)
