We’re all here for Ariel’s cackle as she rips that painters tape off, amirite???

The darker green is really beautiful, and you could even paint the hallway skirting boards and stairs in the darker green to make them pop.

Just an idea: spin the new couch around to back up against your desk. It'll divide the room into desk area, and then seating area. If there's space, you could bring back in your big chair (or the blue one?) to put in the corner beneath the bookcases. Both changes would help with hiding cords and less aesthetic visual clutter.

A few years back, I found my mom's doodles in an old paperback that she had given me. Doodles that I remember her dooing since I wa a child. I took the page and framed it. My mother is now 96 years old. I will cherish her doodles forever.

Just want to say that it was really fun watching a full video of quick wins. I love your bigger projects and renos and how you chip away at them at a normal human pace (it encourages me with my own home projects!) -- but it was lovely watching you complete a bunch of adorable upgrades. Not for my own "viewer satisfaction". For YOURS. I loved watching you finish little things -- there's a tangible joy in this video!

"light blue" -- am I the only one who thought the door was lilac / lavender / light purple?? ((Oh, I see, the front of the door is purple, the edges were blue))

In feng shui, the position your desk now occupies is called the "command" positkon. Having your back to a door like it was before violates the basics instincts that are the products of 100 million years of evolution. Predators could sneak up on you. With your desk in the command position, you command the.room, you have a wall at your back, and you are safe and secure.

worth pointing out, yes matte board does make art look nice, but its mostly there to protect the art from damage. Moisture can get inside the frame, and the art can stick to the glass, causing damage, mold, and bleading of colors, the matte board adds an air gap that helps prevent those problems and protect your art for the long term.

Watching Ariel enthusiastically say “painting is easy” just a day after watching Leena and Craig struggle with their hallway is somehow really funny and beautiful at the same time

Ariel: "I'm putting red over this blue".
Me: She's putting orange over this purple?

“Your own life is a good enough reason to enjoy these things.” I have been trying so hard to practice this. As a child who never sharpened cute pencils or used the stickers or unboxed the barbies- I am now trying to not do that with my daughter. Unfortunately, the stickers lost their stick and were trash- but she loves playing with the collector’s edition barbies and feels healing to live vicariously through her.

You should build a little narrow custom free-standing bookshelf to go in front of your desk to hide your cords and toes! Plus extra book storage 📚💻

What a lovely surprise. Let me settle in to watch

ETA Re: the new position of the desk.

I've watched enough videos by the channel Dear Modern to understand why you didn't like the Feng Shui of sitting with your back to the door. It made you feel vulnerable to attacks from behind from the birds and the monkeys, but now that the desk is in the command position you can see them coming.

I like the darker green doorway too Ariel, you are an artist The stripes are so YOU and I love them.
Your mom's sketch really touched my heart. Something from her that will be with you forever. I'm doing that with my mom's recipes. I saw a scrapbook channel creator make something called a lap book. Very charming and I have a vintage farmhouse paper pack to use. It has awesome recipe cards 4 x 6. I've used a real book as its foundation. Tt has been in a box for a couple years. I'm 70 years old. Your mom's sketch and your love for it has really inspired me to get back to it. You're a sweety Ariel.

You have a really good eye for color harmony! My mom did this wild thing in her home where from the living room couch you can see 9 different paint colors on all the walls between there and the sun room and the dining room (shades of blue, green, and coral) but somehow it all just WORKS! It definitely requires some thought put into it but you can do a lot more with wall paint than you might think. Your house too is proof of that :)
